Ash did it again. 👏🏼🤩
HUGE accomplishments this weekend.
She’s now in the “3’s” club AND is a National Qualifier!!🎉
Proud of this girl is to say the least. She earned her Protection Dog 3 (P3) and Protection Sport Dog 1 (PS1) this weekend.
Saturday, we trialed for her P3.
Obedience was decent. A little distracted on the field and she was very hot. In the agility recall, she hit the last jump. Hit hard. For a split second, I thought I was going to have to pull her. Thankful for the Judge to give a second to walk her around to see how she was. She recovered well, so we fortunately were able to proceed. Flat retrieve was good, could have been quicker on the return. Send away, same, could have had more speed, but she did it and kept going until I was commanded to down her. We pulled a 88.5 in obedience. Not her best, but thankful she wasn’t hurt long term.
Protection - let’s just say she kicked it in gear and the heat didn’t phase her. We had one hiccup on blind 2 search, which was my fault because I walked to fast and passed it. Whoops. But she listened and we got back to blind 3, 4, 5, 6 without any problems. Grips were great. I was extremely proud of her overall performance. Protection she scored a 95.5
Overall P3 score - 184/200
Sunday, we trialed for her PS1.
Obedience- much better focus than Saturday. She did very well overall. I cost her 4 points in her hurdle retrieve due to my command being a little late and stern. She recalled back over the jump without the dumbbell 😔 Flat and A frame retrieves were perfect minus crooked finish 🤦🏼♀️ Ob score 92.5
Protection- this routine was similar to the P3 but much shorter, so she did it very well. Grips great, quick reclaim, good transport. Protection score 96.
Overall PS1 score 188.5/200

Ash not only brought home 2 titles this weekend, but she score highest in her division earning High in Protection Sport. We also received the High BHOT award, which is an honor. This award is for a Breeder Handler Owner Trained team. This is very special to us 🖤
Thank you for everyone that came to support us this weekend and gave us such encouragement and kinda words. We couldn’t do it without all of the support from my family and friends.

Nero earned his first grip title in WDA yesterday! He earned his Protection Dog 1 at Carolina K9’s Spring 2024 Trial . He ended up placing 2nd place overall with a 92 in obedience and 91 in protection. Total score of 183.
Obedience routine went fairly well. I was pretty pleased with our routine. Slight lagging in our about turn, some crooked sits and he tipped the window jump. In protection, he was a little keyed up when we walked on the field and I struggled get 100% focus from him. He decided he wanted to test out Andrew Rowland ‘s suit during our friendly greeting and it cost us 8 points 😣. Nero is only 16 months old and definitely has some maturing to do. We know what we need work on. Knowing he still came out with 91 in protection on not his greatest day is still pretty remarkable. He is such an awesome dog and I’m very proud of him. 🤩

Ash brought home another title yesterday at WV Working K9 Club WDA Obedience Trial - OB2. She had an off day, but overall did good. She still came out with a score of an 89, placing 3rd place in obedience division.
Nero brought home OB1 title along with tying for 1st place in obedience division with a 92. He also brought home the “Fancy Feet” award. This goes to the highest overall heeling score. 👏🏼
We had some really nice competition yesterday. What a great turnout and a beautiful day for hosting a trial.
