Hi everyone,
My name is Zach, and I am the pup-pastry chef and owner of the idea of “Zach’s Barkery & More.”
I love to bake, and I love puppies. I feel very close to puppies because they helped me to control my anxiety (Thanks to Dog Therapy, I have less anxiety).
I have Severe Autism and am Non-Verbal, and I love to be in the kitchen with my mom.
It started at home with my mom Mariame Boujlil, the founder and Director of World Alliance for Families and Children, Inc., who has different programs, including the Blue Angels House, a haven for young adults with autism.
My mom started researching holistic diets for Dogs. She began cooking and baking for me using only organic, all-natural, and human-grade ingredients.
We provide a range of handmade natural dog treats free from artificial additives, flavorings, and preservatives.
My mom, Mariame Boujlil Founder and Director of WAFAC and the Blue Angels House Program. She says it was a bright idea because I love to bake, and I started with her when I was 6 years old. While baking was an activity for Mom and me to bond but not only but she was using it as a therapy for soothing my sensory disintegration.
She saw that I was looking forward to that baking. Every weekend we baked bread, cookies, waffles, and pancakes, and I would stay forever absorbed by the flour and dough.
She promised to do something more meaningful with the love of baking once I graduated High School. She said I would be the first Entrepreneur with Severe Autism in the area.
She wanted something meaningful and purposeful that I could do during the day, and she wanted a business I could be part of from the beginning to the end.
My mom Mariame Boujlil thought that we could take this ritual and the love of baking to another dimension. Why not spoil my Furry Friends? In 2017, off a bit of place on an indoor Flea- Market, we brought in some freshly baked treats, and they all sold within the hour we got to our spot at the flea market.
All the proceeds go back into the non-profit to continue empowering those with disabilities the “Blue Angels House.”
Our mission at Zach’s Barkery & More is to deliver a top-quality product with all-natural ingredients.
Zach’s Barkery & More proudly maintains a small-batch bakery that ensures every treat is crafted by hand. We like to keep it simple - treats are made with limited ingredients. Each ingredient is grown organically and sourced locally (when available). Whether a treat or a nutritious meal, everybody will agree that there's nothing like a nutritious & delicious snack from Zach’s Barkery & More.
We will be baking Dogs Treats for a great cause called Autism and “the Blue Angels House,” a Home for young adults with autism.
We want the help Young Adults with Disabilities learn valuable work and life skills. Students will participate in all aspects of the program, making, baking, labeling, and weighing bags, processing orders, attending community sales opportunities, calculating costs, counting money (cash and credit) from sales, and then making bank deposits.
We will have Vocational and Volunteer Teachers to assist in the process; each stage creates a chance to obtain hands-on experience in math, entrepreneurship, marketing, communication, and teamwork. Additionally, Zach’s Barkery & More will offer employment opportunities.
The donation/purchase helps employ young adults with autism and developmental disabilities. Being part of Zach’s Barkery & More team will empower our future employees/volunteers to be successful in their work and to be active members of the community.
