Moose was found at 8 weeks old as a terrified stray with his mom and siblings. He’s been thriving in his foster home and is so eager to explore the outside world! He is a silly and typical puppy — curious, spunky, and adventurous. He loves humans and other dogs, but also does fine playing by himself. He enjoys being outside, helping in the garden, and rolling in the grass. Moose is a quick learner and easily picks up new commands — he already knows sit and down! He is currently quickly learning crate and potty training and does well on a leash.

⭐️ 11 weeks
⭐️ Up to date on shots
⭐️ We will cover his neuter when he’s old enough
⭐️ We do not know how big these puppies will be nor do we know their breed. Please do not apply if you are not willing to keep Moose as a member of your family when he’s full grown (whatever that size may be).

If you’re interested, please fill out an application via the link in our bio and come meet Moose in person this Saturday 8/3 from 2-5PM at Bloom & Bottle!

Another day, another dog on a chain. Claire came across this boy while driving in Gaffney, SC and, because of the county’s laughable animal welfare laws, this is apparently a perfectly legal and acceptable way for him to spend his entire life (water optional it seems). Claire was able to connect with the owners who said we could provide a cooling bed, dog house, and water bowl and were incredibly thankful. We’re hoping to raise $200 and make a run to the store this evening. Currently all of our money has gone to the puppies, but we can’t say no to animals like this, especially in this heat.

*Please don’t comment bashing the owners or telling us to buy and steal the dog. We know, it sucks. We agree. Please put that energy towards getting involved with rescues, towards fostering, sharing, and donating. Put it towards going to city council meetings and ensuring you’re electing people who want to change our animal welfare laws. Stop and strike up a convo with the owner next time you see a chained animal.*

☀️ SHELTER SUNDAY ☀️

While all of the dogs in our rescue are in foster homes, that’s very rarely the case for animals in local shelters. Shelters are scary - they’re loud, overwhelming, places where many animals completely shut down. Overstimulation and sensory overload 24/7. Animals sometimes don’t leave their kennels for days and even then, it’s usually only if a volunteer comes and happens to give them some attention or takes them for a walk. If you’ve ever volunteered in one, you can attest to how much a dog changes as soon as they leave. (*Please note, this is not because of the shelter staff. They are incredibly caring people. We are so thankful for CMPD ACC. This is solely because shelters don’t have the manpower or funding to do more than they’re doing and because greedy humans continue to breed and discard animals like trash and local governments refuse to change our animal welfare laws, rules, and regulations.)

Today we want to highlight WES! Wes has been at CMPD Animal Control since May and would benefit GREATLY from a foster or adopter.

🐾 1 year old
🐾 loves other dogs
🐾 has a leg injury that the vet isn’t worried about and that doesn’t cause Wes any pain. He is living very comfortably with it
🐾 not destructive
🐾 great in the car
🐾 medium energy - loves a good workout, but will also help you nurse your Sunday hangover and lounge around
🐾 sits for treats and takes them gently
🐾 would love a yard to romp around in
🐾 all around certified good boy

There are thousands of dogs sitting in kennels across the country slowly shutting down day by day. They lose hope, they start to give up, and their spirits are shattered. Even taking a dog like Wes out for a day (not even an overnight) helps tremendously. They all desperately deserve a break. Please be that break for Wes. If you can help, please reach out to or .

Amazon wishlist update: my student was so thankful for the sweet treats, the mom said all 4 of her kiddos were over the moon! That she had to physically take the nerds rope away from them before dinner and they were all were fighting over the new blanket! I’m going to put another one story if you would like to send this family a little something

A little backstory on the mother, she has 4 kids of her own, one child (my student) with unique/special needs. She is also in the process of adopting her nieces. She is a really good person and just needs a helping hand ❤️ going to update my story once more for dog food and some kid friendly items on the wishlist!

Hi friends! Just a little back story one of my student’s and her mom found this angel baby today. They rushed her to the vet and have offered to Foster and maybe even keep her (absolutely love this family) I really want to help them out with the medical bill because they are a family with a special-needs child and two other children in the home. My student named her Abigail and the vet said she’s doing well but will most likely have to become a tripod. We got her up-to-date on shots and have scheduled a spade appointment. If you would like to donate to Abigail’s care, I will be putting a wishlist up today (on the stories) and feel free to please donate to our Venmo ❤️❤️

Ps: going to add a little bit of candy to send to my students in the Amazon wish list so if you see that it is just a little sweet treat for them! :)

This was a tough day. We received a call very late last night reporting a bloody eagle about 100 miles away. We scrambled a volunteer who was able to pick up the injured bird, then arranged transport to our hospital this morning.

This mature male Bald Eagle had been caught in a leg hold trap, then released by the trapper and left to suffer at least a week with the foot dangling and dying.

This is not a post about trapping or hunting. The message here is your actions have consequences. Sometimes chosen actions mistakenly hurt a living being. All I ask is to be responsible and do the right thing. This bird had a mate and had plucked a "brood patch", indicating it had nest responsibilities to help incubate and raise the next generation of Bald Eagles. It is highly unlikely that nest will be successful this year.

This eagle was suffering today and had experienced excruciating pain for many days. Thanks to a concerned individual, help was summoned and we were able to humanely euthanize this proud bird. One legged eagles cannot be released and develop serious complications in the other foot over time. Our permits require euthanasia in these situations.

Please think about your actions and their consequences to others. This is not a statement for or against any hunting or trapping. It is simply a request to think and act responsibly.

Sarah was seized in a dog fighting investigation in Macon-Bibb county. She had been at the shelter for 9 months and she was starting to lose weight. Sarah became urgent and needed to get out of there. Sarahs owner went to jail on animal cruelty charges. Her lip is ripped off. Her face and ears are completely scarred. Her front paw is disfigured and she has some serious wounds to her inner leg. She has been bred multiple times and she was heartworm positive. This poor girl has been through it all.

Even though Sarah has scars and is missing part of her lip, despite everything she has been through at the hands of humans, she still love everyone she meets. She is resilient and smart and she adores people. She turns into a pile of excited wiggles and happiness when people are around. She loves to run in the yard and will get crazy zoomies. She thinks bones and toys are fun, but she flinches and gets a bit scared if you raise your arm up to throw them for her. She loves food and already knows how to sit and kennel-up, although her missing lip causes her to be a little sloppy when chewing treats.

Despite her scars and lack of lip, Sarah is a beautiful dog whose silly personality shines. Sarah would love a family that is kind and enjoys watching her zoom around the yard. She likes to be active, but is also sweet and calm when its time. She would likely do well with older children as she tends to startle at loud noises, like clapping hands. Due to her past, Sarah needs to be the only pet in the home.
