We cannot take strays, owner surrenders do rehoming or take sanctuary dogs. We do responsibly rescue several hundred dogs each year ONLY from NC kill shelters !

Happy tails!! A Hurricane Homeless happy ending
Mary Jane found her forever friend❤️

Mary Jane met her forever family last night & we were honored to help . John, a retired military diver , was made homeless by Hurricane Helene. After he had literally lost everything, the only thing he really wanted or needed he said was a dog .

We sponsored her adoption fees , prevention, food and supplies to allow him to adopt his new best friend . She was so scared as she was homeless too. Until she met him she was hiding in corners and her cage and was afraid of everyone. She went right to him as if she understood . Not scared anymore she perked her ears up , nuzzled in his neck & fell asleep knowing she was safe and home . His smile showing the happiness he had almost forgotten.

He was displaced from Hurricane Helene & lost everything as did many in .
He has now gained hope and love with the strength from a little friend to rebuild.

Living in a new community near our rescue where everyone was made homeless by the hurricane. Our family has been spending a lot of time with these amazing people getting to know them, bringing supplies, cooking meals & helping them rebuild.

Home looks a little different for all of them now but they are safe.and starting over with the help of one another and the amazing facility that has donated their land and found temporary housing for all of them.

This is community. This is the best of North Carolina
This is rescue ❤️ This is what love looks like
