🐾 Finn’s Diagnosis & Next Steps 💙

Finn finally has some answers, but his journey isn’t over yet. After extensive testing, he has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, pancreatitis, and malabsorption.

What Does This Mean?

🔹 Hypothyroidism – His thyroid isn’t producing enough hormones, affecting his metabolism, energy, and ability to gain weight. He will need lifelong thyroid medication.
🔹 Pancreatitis – Inflammation of the pancreas, making it difficult to digest food properly. He is now on a strict low-fat diet to help manage it.
🔹 Malabsorption – His body isn’t absorbing nutrients properly, which explains why he has struggled to gain weight. We are considering a second opinion on enzyme treatment to help him recover more effectively.

Despite all of this, Finn is still fighting and remains the gentle, sweet old soul we all love. 💙 Now, our focus is on helping him gain weight, rebuild muscle, and stay as comfortable as possible.

🐾 Tomorrow is a Big Day for Trucker! 💙

Tomorrow, Trucker takes a huge step in his journey to a healthy life—he’s getting his first heartworm injection. 🏥💉

What Are Heartworms & Why Does Treatment Matter?

Heartworms are dangerous parasites that live in a dog’s heart and lungs, causing serious health issues if left untreated. Treatment is a long, costly, and delicate process that requires strict rest to avoid complications.

🐶 Trucker is in Stage 1 of Treatment, meaning he’s received pre-treatment meds and is now ready for his first injection. After this, he’ll continue with additional injections and strict rest to make sure the worms die off safely.

🐾 Welcome, Lizzie! 💕

Today, Lizzie officially joined the Daisy Bean Rescue family! She was picked up from Columbia Animal Services by her amazing new foster mom and is already soaking up all the love she deserves. ❤️

Lizzie has been through so much. She arrived at the shelter with a severe, gaping wound that went all the way into her abdomen. After life-saving surgery, she is now on the road to recovery! Over the next two weeks, she will be on strict rest to ensure her wound heals properly—but that hasn’t stopped her from showering her foster parents with kisses and cuddles! 🥹🐶

Daisy Bean Rescue is seeking an immediate foster so we can pull Lizzie from Columbia Animal Services and give her the care and love she desperately needs.

💔 Lizzie’s Story:
Lizzie, a 2-year-old, 37lb spayed female, arrived at the shelter with a severe, gaping wound on her left side—an injury that went all the way into her abdomen. Thanks to emergency surgery, she is stable and recovering, but she still needs a safe and loving home to continue healing.

🐾 Shy & Submissive – Tends to keep her head low but wags her tail sweetly.
🐾 Very Gentle & Quiet – She just wants a safe place to feel secure.

“You’re Never Too Old to Make New Friends!” 🐾❤️ – Love, Finn

Hey friends, Finn here! 🐶 At 14 years old, I thought my best days were behind me. My body is a little tired, my eyesight isn’t great, and my hearing isn’t what it used to be… but guess what? I’ve been making SO many new friends! 💙

Since joining Daisy Bean Rescue, I’ve met kind humans who love me, warm beds that hug me just right, and a team that’s working hard to get me healthy. I may be a senior, but my heart is still young, and I’m so grateful for every new friend I’ve made along the way.

They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but I’ve learned something important—you’re never too old to feel loved. 🥹🐾

I don’t know what my future holds yet, but what I do know is that I’ll never be alone again. And for that, I wag my tail in thanks. 💙

🐾 Finn’s First Vet Visit – Update & How You Can Help 💙

Today, Finn went for his first vet visit at Pawmetto Lifeline, and while we’re still waiting on test results, we don’t yet have clear answers on what’s causing his chronic diarrhea.

What we do know:
🐶 Finn is only 58lbs and scored a 2/9 on his body condition scale – he is severely underweight.
🦷 He has severe dental disease, missing teeth, and struggles to eat properly.
🐾 Severe arthritis & muscle atrophy
👀 Cataracts in both eyes & noticeable hearing loss
💙 Despite it all, Finn is still in good spirits.

Our focus now is getting him the care he deserves, helping him gain weight, and making sure he’s comfortable, safe, and loved for the rest of his days. His first visit cost $317, and with more tests and treatments ahead, we need your help to keep fighting for Finn.

🐾 Pupdate: Mater is Living in Luxury! 🏡✨

From wandering the streets to finding the good life, Mater has officially settled into his forever home, and he’s thriving! 💙

Mater’s journey wasn’t easy—he spent weeks sleeping on a stranger’s porch, searching for warmth and safety. After being rescued, he gave us a huge scare when he wandered off from his foster home, but thankfully, he found his way back to us. And now? He’ll never have to worry about being lost or alone again.

He’s officially living in luxury, spoiled beyond belief in his forever home. Soft beds, belly rubs, and all the love he could ever need—this senior boy hit the jackpot!

Huge thanks to everyone who helped along the way—from his rescuers to his fosters, to those who shared his story. Because of you, Mater gets to live out his golden years in comfort and love. 💛

🎉 Johnny is Adopted! 🏡❤️

This weekend, Johnny found his forever family at Steel Hands Brewing in Cayce—a perfect match made at a wonderful dog-friendly brewery! 🍻🐾

Johnny’s journey to this moment hasn’t been easy. Dumped on the side of Percival Rd in Columbia, dangerously underweight and covered in pressure sores, he had every reason to lose hope. But thanks to his amazing foster and so many supporters, he gained weight, healed, and learned what it means to be loved. 💙

Now, he’s starting his best chapter yet—with parents who adore him and a lifetime of adventures ahead. From a forgotten stray to a beloved family member, Johnny’s story is proof that rescue changes lives.
