Mater is officially available for pre-adoption!

Mater is a sweet 10-year-old, 28 lb senior boy looking for a warm, loving home to spend his golden years. This little gentleman was found as a stray, making himself comfortable on a kind family’s porch. Now, he’s safe in his foster home in Gastonia, SC, where he’s showing off his love for snuggles, good food, and relaxation!

Thanks to your continued support of our weekly fundraisers, we were able to call in payment today ($525) directly to the vet for Truckers HW treatment.

He is with Daisy Bean Rescue and receiving all the love ❤️ He was found in a trucker parking lot in Gaston SC, living in a hole underneath a trailer. He had an open wound on his head, was emaciated, and severely dehydrated. His foster had helped him gain about 15lbs. He has been treated for severe hookworms that made him anemic.

He has come along way and will begin his HW treatment journey on 2/12 with his first injection.

Trucker is one step closer to being heartworm-free, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible generosity of Tanner's Endless Love, Inc! They stepped up and paid the remaining balance of Trucker’s heartworm treatment, ensuring he gets the care he needs to live a happy, healthy life.

We also want to send a heartfelt thank you to Pawmetto Lifeline for providing Trucker’s treatment and for the compassionate care they give to so many of our foster dogs. Their dedication to helping heartworm-positive rescues is truly lifesaving.

Sweet Heidi is in crisis. Her loving parents rushed her to Veterinary Emergency Group in Charlotte, NC, because her jaw is locked open, leaving her in obvious discomfort and distress. 💔

Her family loves her dearly, and we want to do everything we can to support them during this difficult time. Vet emergencies like this can be overwhelming, both emotionally and financially.

🚨 Enzo Needs a Long-Term Foster or Forever Home! 🐾

Our playful pup Enzo is looking for a new long-term foster or forever home! This sweet boy is full of energy, loves to play, and is still very much a puppy. At only 25 lbs, he’s the perfect compact size for snuggles and adventures!

Update on sweet little Enzo! He is available for pre-adoption now!

Enzo is a 7 month old puppy with a very sad history. We were notified of a puppy that needed our help by a concerned social worker, they told us that Enzo was living outside in nothing but a tipped over garbage can. The social worker witnessed Enzo being abused and neglected and couldn't stand by and let it continue.

We worked diligently to find a foster home and get Enzo to safety but we were almost too late. When we finally, were able to rescue him he had a severe open head wound that the previous owners blamed on another dog attacking him.
They didn't get Enzo any medical attention or reach out to the rescue for assistance. We immediately took him to the emergency vet and got him the care he needed, the vet was unable to determine what caused the injury but he had no fractures and was finally safe with his new foster family.

Despite his past, Enzo is a typical puppy. He is very friendly and affectionate even with strangers. He is dog and cat friendly, although he hasn't been tested with kids his foster family believes he would do great with older children. He loves to snuggle and cuddle with his foster family and foster doggie siblings. The vet described him as having a very brave, playful, & friendly personality.

He is doing great in his crate and with potty training. He is vaccinated & microchipped, he is pending his neuter.

He is currently about 25lbs and will grow some but will most likely stay a smaller/medium size boy.

🚨 SOS: MISSING SENIOR DOG – HELP US FIND MATER! 🚨

Our sweet Mater is missing! He slipped his collar while going potty and was last seen at the intersection of Anne Neely Rd & Fewell Rd in Gastonia, NC.

We immediately enlisted the help of a droner (which cost $350), but unfortunately, Mater was not spotted. However, during the search, we discovered another heartbreaking case—a dog tied to a tree, severely emaciated. We are now working with local animal control to get more information and help this poor dog as well.

Urgent: Fosters Needed for Columbia Animal Services Hounds! 🐾

On 1/17/25, Columbia Animal Services (CAS) took in 40+ hounds from a severe hoarding case. These dogs were living inside crates outdoors, neglected and forgotten. Most of them are seniors (8-12 years old) and in desperate need of help.

Without fosters, these dogs are at high risk of euthanasia simply because of their age and heartworm status. Fostering will literally save their lives.

🚗 We can transport these dogs to fosters in SC and the surrounding states!

🏡 Fostering is temporary, but it means the world to these dogs. Daisy Bean Rescue will provide medical care—all you need to do is give them a safe, loving place to land.

Our sweet baby Enzo is making so much progress! His head injury looks better already, he has gotten multiple baths, and he went this morning to his first real vet check-up! This boy now has some vaccines in him and a microchip!

The best news of all is he is HW negative!!!!!
He is being treated for some hookworms but besides that this boy is going to be adoption ready in no time at all!

He weighed 25lbs today, and his personality was noted as bold & friendly. This is just a puppy that is so thankful to finally be safe and loved. His foster family says he is just the happiest puppy you will ever meet ❤️ Considering his recent trauma we are so pleased that he has bounced back so well.

💔 Mater’s Heartworm Update 💔

We have an update on our sweet boy, Mater, after his vet visit yesterday. While we’re heartbroken to share that Mater is heartworm positive, it’s not entirely unexpected given his rough start in life.

The good news? We’re moving forward with the fast-kill method to get this lovable senior healthy and ready for his forever home as soon as possible.

Mater has completely melted our hearts with his adorable smushy face and gentle spirit, and we’re determined to give him the golden years he deserves. But we need your help to get there. His vet bill from yesterday’s visit totaled $603.18, and his heartworm treatment will add to those costs.

🐾 Welcome Mater to the Daisy Bean Rescue Family! 🐾

Say hello to Mater, a small senior who has stolen our hearts! This sweet boy started showing up on a family’s porch to snooze and relax, and when no one came forward for him, they knew he needed help.

At about 7 years old and weighing just 22 lbs, Mater may be small, but his charm is enormous! So far, he seems to be dog- and kid-friendly, and he’ll be getting a full vet check tomorrow to learn more about his health and needs.

Big thanks to Mater’s amazing foster family in Gastonia, NC, who stepped up to give this tiny gentleman a warm, safe place to land while we prepare him for adoption.
