Powertrain broke yesterday's record first thing this morning in Blacksburg, VA with a 16.131. Woo-hoo!
For our nonflyball followers, this time is 4 dogs running relay style down 51' while jumping over 4 jumps, doing a swimmers turn on the box that's loaded with a ball, catching the ball, turning and running back down and over the four jumps. All 4 dogs = 16.131 seconds.

We are a Charlotte based flyball team, competing in Region 9 tournaments and teaching flyball classes.
The North American Flyball Association, our governing body, continues to pause tournaments during this pandemic. Currently all North American tournaments have been cancelled until the end of February 2021. In mid-December the board will meet again to reevaluate tournaments reopening.
We, as a team, are continuing to also take a break from offering flyball classes. When we open back up, we will post here to let everyone know. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Many of our team dogs play multiple sports. Today several participated in a disc dog seminar and then competed in Toss and Fetch with Queen City Disc Dog. A fun day!
Three Turbo Paws dogs will receive their Iron Dog plaques: Holly, Susie and Ricky. I'm so proud of these dogs and handlers. For my non flyball pals, Iron Dog is 10 years of fyball racing.

Each of the three teams placed first at the Pawmetto Pack tournament in their division. What a fun time!
No practice today, December 1, because of the holiday. Our next practice is Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4pm.
We had a great time at Rural Hill's Sheepdog Trials today. It was beautiful weather for the flyball demos. Great attendance at the event. Our dogs had just as much fun as us. If you missed it, the event is open tomorrow too. Bring your pup and enjoy the farm.
We are moving our flyball classes to Sundays, 4 - 5pm starting with our next class on Sunday, Nov. 17.

The flyball community lost a Great person today - Geoff Brown. He will be missed by all. Condolences to Amanda and Family. We thank him for all he has done for this great sport!!!
We had a great time at The Coconut Classic tournament. We wore our pajamas, watched Harry Potter characters race, laughed at other's costumes, cheered as our team's green dog, Stella, complete her first clean run, and cried over a dog's retirement race. Rambo, our team's mighty Corgi mix, was chosen to be on the Dream Team too.
Oh, and our four teams did great too. What a Nutty time we had at The Nut.
We are transitioning our classes from afternoons to mornings to try to beat the heat. We will work in short sessions and loads of breaks for you and your dog. Be safe out there.
Beginner's Flyball class today at 4pm, May 26 is cancelled due to the heat.
Today's flyball class, Sunday - April 14 at 4pm, is cancelled due to the storms rolling through this afternoon.
Our Downforce Team: Akela, Susie, Juno, Rambo, Scrimshaw and Stella captured 1st place at the Pawmetto Pack Tournament.
Shake 'n Bake team placed 2nd with: Annabelle, Ivy, Francis, Ricky, Scimshaw and Jaxon.
Powertrain ran great but we were in Division 1 and were just out matched.
