Maverick is waiting for his forever family, but he is looking so cozy on his foster couch. Fostering helps puppies get a head start on potty training and basic manners. We are so great full for our treasured foster families! 🐾💕

Oliver is 10 weeks old and is super social and a curious playful boy. He likes tennis balls and chasing the falling leaves. 🍂🐶

We're still looking for temporary fosters for three of these sweet little babies. Oliver, Hailey, and Callie. If you can help out, please let us know! 😁 Also they're in the process of being listed now for anyone interested in adoption. 🐾🥰

These 10lb cuties are coming to NMAR today. We need fosters from 11/1 to 11/11 (or longer if you choose). They are happy, social pups and we are guessing they are schnauzer/beagle blends. 9 weeks old, 1st vaccines, wormed & given flea prevention. Supplies provided. Please only offer if you're able to commit for the entire 10 days. It's hard on the pups to be shuffled around. Of course these little guys are also available for adoption.

Meet Annie! Annie is a super sweet girl, 35lb girl who is in need of a temporary foster from 11/2-11/10 while her foster family is out of town. Annie is super social with dogs and people and does well in a crate. Annie is also mostly house trained, walks well on a leash and knows some basic obedience. She loves giving kisses, playing with other dogs and squeaky toys, and is very treat motivated. Annie sometimes plays a little rough, so a home without cats would be most ideal.

Annie was evacuated from one of our partner shelters in Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene. She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Annie is also available for adoption. Our longest resident Kobe finally got to go home to his forever family!
✨This is the most beautiful story✨
His new mom was a volunteer over 2 years ago, and Kobe was the first dog she walked with NMAR. They fell for each other but as a college student she was not ready to adopt back then. She made him a promise that when she got settled into a place where she could have him, she would come looking for him. SHE DID look for him, and HE WAS STILL WAITING FOR HER!
Kobe is a NMAR family favorite and we are all so overjoyed for this moment with them. Congratulations big boy! We will miss you, but we know you deserve this love with your person. 💗🐾

UPDATE: HONEY WAS GIVEN AWAY EVEN THOUGH WE SAID YES TO TAKING HER. So no foster needed now 😕
Honey is a 2 yr old black lab that needs a foster. She looking for a new home through no fault of hers. Her "family" moved somewhere that doesn't allow dogs. Weve been told she loves people, kids and other dogs.

Happy (day after) Gotcha day to the sweetest boy, Zeek! Formerly known as Titus, Zeek found his forever home yesterday evening with the most precious family. Zeek now has a brother to chase around and the cutest little boy who already loves him so much. We met at a dog park and the little guy in the photo started building a "fort" out of brush lying around to play with him. It was so heartwarming. I'm thrilled Zeek found this home. I know his life will be filled with adventure, love, and all the running around his little heart desires. Enjoy making memories and THANK YOU for choosing to rescue your next family member! 🥰 🫶

🚨 WE NEED VIRTUAL AMBASSADORS 🚨 Do you love creating fun videos 🎥 and posting them online? Do you have a strong social media presence and love connecting with your followers? If you answered yes then the NMAR dogs need you! We have several dogs that have been with us for over 6 months and as part of Clear the Shelters month we need to get eyes on them so hopefully they can find their forever homes! Become an NMAR Virtual Ambassador in 3 Easy Steps 1. Choose one of our long-term residents as your Virtual Ambassador Dog. 2. Visit our shelter and get to know your dog. Snuggle, read, walk, teach them tricks, or go off on a fun outing. You can visit your dog as many times as needed until he or she gets adopted. 3. Create adorable content and harness the power of social media to help your NMAR dog get adopted. 🦃 Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 Today and every day we are thankful for all of you. We could not do why we do without our volunteers, fosters, adopters, and donors. Even everyone who likes and shares our posts helps get our dogs seen and adopted! We hope y’all have a safe and fun day full of good food and great company. 🐾

We finally have turf!! Thank you so much to everyone who donated. Our dogs are much happier in their luxurious play yards! ❤️ We could not care for these pups without your help!! 🐾

We almost couldn’t pull them because we couldn’t find fosters. 😔 The adorable four playing above almost didn’t get pulled because we didn’t have enough help. 😢 Here’s the thing - we can’t rescue dogs without FOSTERS! We’re still in the midst of a move so our shelter is 100% foster based. Which means we cannot take ANY dog without a committed foster. 🏡 This is where you come in! Fostering is fun and rewarding. Yeah yeah “I could never foster! I’d keep them all!” - we’ve all felt that way before our first foster. But even though letting go of your foster can be emotional, it is a great feeling knowing you helped save a dog’s LIFE and now they’re in the perfect home! We supply everything you need - crates, food, toys, etc. You just need a loving home and some time to spend with the pups. You want an adorable puppy to spice up your Instagram content? We can place one of those with you! 📸 Need someone a little more mature and laid back who enjoys the finer things in life like a Netflix binge? Don’t you worry - we have adult dogs who just want to snuggle! 🛋 How does this work? 1. ✨ head to our website and fill out a foster application ✨ 2. You will be contacted by our foster coordinators. 3. You will be placed on our email list/foster page. This is where all the info goes. Dogs needing foster, how long we expect the foster to be, type of household the dog needs, etc 4. When you’re ready to ~swipe right~ Respond to the post/email letting the foster coordinators know you’re interested! We will never place random dogs into homes unless we think it’s a good fit for both human and animal family members! Please help if you can! We have so many animals that we’re trying to help but currently can’t take anymore 😔
