The teams are set for Super Bowl LIX: Eagles vs. Chiefs!

But there’s another matchup taking place—one that’s even cuter than the big game. Kal’s Pals and The Mutty Misfits are going head-to-head in a Super Bowl of their own, featuring a starting lineup of tiny puppies, each ready to steal your heart.

With four puppies on each team, these adorable furballs are all set to make some serious noise in the cutest competition of the year. While the goal is always to find the perfect forever family, these 8 little pups have already won—they’ve found their way into rescue and are now one step closer to their happily-ever-afters.

In just a few short weeks, each of these sweet pups will be ready to find a home, but for now, they’re winning the game of life, one paw at a time!

🐾 ADOPTABLE BRIAR 🐾

This little guy was found as a stray in the middle of the street without a collar or leash. Upon getting out of the car, he immediately ran up to me like he knew I was the right person to rescue him. I attempted to find his home throughout the neighborhood and on social media, but was unsuccessful. Unexpectedly, a new pal named Briar emerged!

Briar is a very sweet + playful, 4month old, 25lb mixed breed who spends most of his days playing tug with his foster sister .goblin.kiwi, laying in that one spot of the house where the sunlight shines through, or entertaining himself while chomping on a bone.

-99% potty trained (just the occasional random accident if he gets too distracted outside!)

🐾 ADOPTABLE GEORGE 🐾

George has been with us for 5 months and during that time, we watched him come so far in so many ways. From being a malnourished, hairless puppy with no manners to being the healthy, happy, playful, and obedient dog he is today.

George is ~40lbs, fully vaccinated, neutered and on preventatives. He’s a spunky guy + full of life + entering into adulthood on January 26th when he turns 1! While he’s enjoying life in his foster home, sunbathing, learning basic commands, and playing with all his friends, his one wish would be to celebrate his 1st birthday in his own home with his own family!

As you probably already know, Honey was adopted! But her story was too important not to tell…

It all happened the first time I volunteered (ever) at our favorite shelter . I decided to take Honey for a walk. She was very timid but very sweet. She didn’t want to go far but you’ll never believe what she did want….
She wanted a HUG! The moment she placed both her paws on my shoulders, I knew she chose me to rescue her, to advocate for her. After that day, I couldn’t get Honey off my mind and I needed to find out more about her including what my options were as a new rescue with limited resources and funds.

Honey ended up as a new mama in the shelter after being trapped. She was terrified of all the noises around her especially with having to care for her 10 beautiful babies. She did everything she could to protect them in the situation/enviroment they were in. Eventually all her babies secured rescue, but unfortunately Honey was hw+. This fact left her hanging out at the shelter far too long. She didn’t deserve to be there, she deserved the world! The thought of this led us to take our first hw+ dog into rescue. Although it wasn’t always easy, we don’t regret a second of it!

The combination of being a recent mama straight out of the shelter and receiving hw injections was too much for Honey. It really took a toll on her mind and body. She had no idea where she was or what was happening. She was still scared and she was irritable from all the medication. Honey needed so many things, from patience to love to a confident foster who she could trust and most importantly, she needed time. Thankfully, with all those things, Honey blossomed right in front of our eyes. She’s by far the most special dog (to me) who came into our rescue, to the point I even thought about adopting her myself! However, the moment Viktoria and Nick came along, I knew in my heart Honey belonged with them. I can’t even begin to explain all the reasons why and all the signs that led her adopters to her (to us). But everything just felt right!

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of transporting 4 amazing puppies to a very rural shelter in SC where they would catch their next transport to a better life with a rescue in NY. I knew that there was no way (with meeting at a shelter) that I couldn’t (or wouldn’t) go inside and meet some of the other pups in need who unfortunately weren’t heading north as well.

There were a few pups I was able to meet but as soon as I saw Holly I knew she was coming home with me, whether it was the right time or not. Just the thought of her being in the shelter since 8 weeks of age was enough of a reason for me.

Initially, Holly was very timid but extremely sweet at the same time. Growing up in the shelter is not ideal and many puppies are under-socialized bc of it. Thankfully, Holly is warming up quickly and showing her playful puppy side. The world is so new to her, everything is (toys, bones, blankets, pup cups) but she’s taking it all in and is so grateful for every moment she experiences! She’s truly a gem and loving her new life (except her reflection and shadows which are still oh so scary to her lol).

While Holly decompresses, we will continue to share what we learn about her and update everyone when she’s officially ready for adoption!

🐾 ADOPTED 🐾

Smokey came to us at 7 weeks old after being found in a cemetery all alone. Is he a deer? A kangaroo? A bat? A bear? We still don’t know! But what we do know is this mixed breed has the most beautiful eyes, gorgeous brindle coat, and the best ears around!

Smokey is the funnest little guy with such a silly personality that we are still unraveling. He enjoys toys, bones, and meal time very much. He quickly picked up on crate (and potty) training after his arrival; he feels safe in his crate and will even go in throughout the day without an accident! He plays well independently and with his foster sister and has learned to respect his older foster brother’s space. Smokey is a great co-pilot on car rides and doesn’t seem to be bothered much by noises or his little vests/sweaters he obligingly wears.

All that being said, he has come a long way in just 3 weeks, but needless to say, he is still a puppy so he will need an adopter who will take time to continue to work on manners and obedience with him.
