Dear Pet Parents,

At Newaukum Valley Veterinary Services, we are always looking for ways to improve the health and well-being of your furry companions. In line with this commitment, we’re excited to announce an important change to our Feline Leukemia (FeLV) vaccine protocol.

Starting January 1st, we will be transitioning our FeLV vaccine from a 1-year duration to a 2-year duration. This change has been made after careful consideration of the latest veterinary research and in response to our desire to reduce the frequency of visits and the stress that can sometimes come with them.

Why the Change?

We understand that vet visits can be stressful for both pets and their owners. By extending the duration of the FeLV vaccine to 2 years, we hope to provide more convenience for you while also reducing the number of visits needed for your cat's ongoing care. This change will help keep your feline friend protected while making their veterinary experience as comfortable as possible.

What This Means for You:

Less Frequent Visits: After your cat receives the updated FeLV vaccine, they will be protected for 2 years instead of 1.
Continued Protection: Your pet’s health remains our top priority, and the FeLV vaccine will still provide strong protection against feline leukemia for the longer period.
Personalized Care: Our team will continue to provide tailored recommendations based on your cat’s health and lifestyle, ensuring that they receive the best care possible.

What You'll Do:
As a Veterinary Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures
- Preparing and maintaining the examination rooms and surgical area
- Restraining animals safely and compassionately during exams and treatments
- Administering medications and vaccinations as instructed
- Conducting routine laboratory tests and ensuring samples are properly handled
- Communicating effectively with pet owners about their animals’ health
- Providing compassionate care to animals during their visit
- Keeping detailed records of patient treatments and progress
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the clinic

What We’re Looking For:
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being
