This exercise teaches patience and calmness around other dogs and people.

Our newest hunting dog, Lindsay’s “Jack” Daniels if you please, joined our family, last week. He is a 9 month old sweet as pie, 3/4 Running Walker, 1/4 bloodhound. He will be our specialty hound, with that his primary job will be; pursing Cougars for the WDFW none lethal pursuit program, WDFW problem predator removal program and recreational Raccon hunting. We are excited for him to join us.

This will be our first and last field bred Lab breeding! Full expectations these puppies will be amazing hunting companions! Bitch, is a working service dog, with over 100 days in the feild most seasons.

Sire, is worked frequently as a traditional flusher/retriever. Strong prey drive, very athletic build and very biddable. This litter is expected to go FAST!!!!

This weekend was the first test weekend for the NAVHDA Scablands chapter. I ran my 13 month old GSP (German Shorthair Pointer) “Lindsay’s Porter”, who received a Natural Ability Prize I (112). Darren handled his dog Zelda a (15 month old Wirehaired Pointing Griffon) in his first test, they collectively received a prize III and scored 100. Great weekend of memories for my son, our dogs and I.

Party tricks NA class of 2023; Lindsay’s Princess “Zelda” and Lindsay’s BBA “Porter”, working on placing off an elevated platform day one.

Today Zelda’s patience and willingness to please, shines trough she’s my gold star dog today.

Today ”Zelda” is working on being quite and content on place, as well as improving he search intensity.

She is not a shorthair or a lab but, these griff’s hold a special place in my heart and on my string.

My favorite hunts of the last two season were hunting with my dog “Stout” and my buddies GSP “Gus”. I love working a methodical close working dog like “griff”’s braced, with a big running fast intense dog like a “GSP”.

I can’t wait to hunt Zelda and Porter when they are mature enough.

Lindsay’s BBA “Stout” is up for discussion, through no fault of the dog we are searching for a new home for the doggie dude. Great house dog and good hunting companion.

NAVDHA NA prize II, VDHF HAE 49, clear paw print genetics, handled as a service dog, house broke….He is not free, however the right home is the priority.

Update: “Stout” has been placed in a wonderful local hunting home with one of my buddies from work. He will continue to train towards his UT test. Thank you everyone for the help and interest to make sure he went to a good home.

The brown dogs (“whiskey” chocolate AKC Lab 5 y/o) (“Rye” GSP/Lab cross 1 y/o) working on remote place training…Which will translate into the skills used for hunt testing such as “steady by blind” and “Remain by blind”…It has also proven very useful in the field to be able to direct my dogs to a specific cover (especially duck hunting the ability to place the dog away from the gun). As well as, great utilized around the house to place a dog in a specific spot and they remain quietly.
