“My neighbor/friend/YouTube/the guy on the street said: Push your hand down the puppy’s throat when they bite.
Why this is a bad idea:
Pushing your hand down a puppy’s throat teaches them that human hands are scary and could even make them more defensive or aggressive.
Instead, if your hand ends up in your puppy’s mouth, gently push it forward a tiny bit to release it without scraping on their sharp puppy teeth. And then find something else they can sink their teeth into like a chew, Kong or toy.
Building trust with your puppy is key! ❤️ Stay tuned for more advice on what NOT to do with biting pups.”

🐾 Playmates Can Save Your Hands 🐾
One of the best ways to cut down on puppy biting is to let your pup play with the right dogs! Other dogs are great at teaching bite control naturally—puppies learn quickly when their playmates let them know what’s too rough.
Look for calm adult dogs or well-matched puppies who enjoy play without getting too wild. The more your puppy practices with them, the less they’ll nip at you! 🐶💕
🍽️ A Hungry Puppy is a Bitey Puppy! 🍽️
Did you know puppies are little eating machines? If your puppy’s biting seems extra intense, they might just be hungry! Make sure they’re getting at least three meals a day, and consider adding a snack or two if they still seem ravenous.
You can also use food to redirect biting—try stuffing a Kong or Toppl with something yummy like peanut butter, yogurt, or soft kibble. It’s a great way to keep those teeth busy.
🦴Chew This, Not That!
When your puppy bites you, they’re not being bad—they just need something else to sink those teeth into. The trick? Show them what’s okay to bite.
Try toys like Kongs or Toppls stuffed with their kibble, durable chews, or a fun tug toy. A puppy with a job to do (chewing a safe toy) is less likely to nip at your hands or ankles. Bonus: It gives you a moment of peace!

🐾 “Nail Care Made Easy!”
Does your dog hate nail trims?
Cooperative care can change that! Start by:
1️⃣ Letting your dog sniff the nail clippers. Reward them!
2️⃣ Touching their paw with the clippers. Reward again.
3️⃣ Gradually working toward clipping just one nail per session.
📈 Go at your dog’s pace and keep the rewards flowing.
