Big Minnie is such a happy girl! she’s showered with love and affection at the shelter by our volunteers, but nothing compares to what it would feel like to be in her own home with her own person.

Minnie was in foster care for a few months and did OUTSTANDING. she loved her human foster sister so much and received high marks on her cuddling skills.🥰

Warm day today so our leaf cutter bees are hatching!! May they go forth and pollinate my garden. 🤞🏻🌼🪻🌸

Hero came for his first puppy visit today and was full of energy! Only a squeak toy captured his attention for a split second so I had to be fast!!

Update: the Mayabb skunk motel is officially closed!! Mom and babies left last Friday and the opening has been permanently closed. Thanks for all of your hard work Garry! This is my front porch situation at the moment. I’ve been dealing with a skunk building a den under my porch for a few weeks and have consulted Garry with Humane Wildlife Solutions. Many other companies just trap and kill the animals, which only fixes your problem temporarily until something else moves in, plus you are killing an otherwise healthy animal in the process. (it’s actually illegal to relocate them, so if a company is telling you that is what they are doing, they are lying). Garry will help to humanly ”evict” the critters and then fix the area so they will no longer have access, therefore permanently fixing the problem. He will also help you figure out what you may be doing to attract the critters in the first place. After viewing the trail camera he set up, and seeing all of the babies that are under there, I’m glad I didn’t just close off the area or trap and remove mom because I would have had a lot of dead baby skunks under my porch (bad on so many levels!). A couple more weeks and they will be old enough (and smart enough) to follow mom out and relocate with her and we can close the hole. Fingers crossed we can continue to avoid getting sprayed before then. And when I say we, I mean Eli! If anyone has any wildlife issues Garry is your guy.
