Next up on our list of workers, we have “Laffy Taffy”. Laffy was a stray whos owner never came back for her. She came in heavily full of milk with no reports of her puppies anywhere. She is VERY sweet and we are saddened by the fact her family never came forward. She is now available for adoption and ready to go home today. Adoption restrictions apply, please visit our websites to see if you qualify.

She is estimated to be about 2-3 years old. Very energetic and wiggly ☺️. Laffy has not been tested with other dogs or cats, so please bring your companion in for a meet and greet. We are open now for walk ins!

Two dogs were left in crates in front of our shelter. If anyone has any information or possibly knows these dogs please reach out.
Our hearts go out to these two sweet souls. So sad.

UPDATE: Little Big Dog Rescue is taking OMA into their loving care 💖

A New Arrival 😔

Our hearts break a little more every time a senior dog gets surrendered to the Animal Shelter. Killa, who we have renamed Oma, to give her a fresh start in her older life was surrender to us due to a family member’s allergies. This 13 year old sweet lady has only known one family in her entire life just to end up spending her days in the Animal Shelter. We are sure we can all agree that the Animal Shelter is no place for a senior pet 😞 Oma is a 48 pound Lab mix who still has a lot of love to give her new family. Oma is said to be housebroken, good with children and other dogs.

We are hoping someone out there has room in their home 🏡 and heart ❤️ to give this sweet old lady a lot of love and a soft dog bed to retire on.

PUPPY PENELOPE STILL NEEDS A LOVING HOME AFTER HER SISTER IS ADOPTED
UPDATE: ADOPTED -- THANK YOU 🥰
After her sister Madeline, got adopted on Saturday, 4-month-old, 13-pound puppy PENELOPE found herself all alone in her kennel. She arrived nearly feral, but she's made great strides over the last week, becoming more sociable.

PENELOPE and her sister were living on trash and barely making it when officers were finally able to trap them. She needs a home with at least one other friendly dog to help her gain more confidence. Special understanding and experience with formerly feral pups is a plus. PENELOPE loves toys and she is learning to trust people, but there’s much work yet to be done. She needs housetraining and a home with a fenced-in yard. No small children.

PENELOPE is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $35. The Aiken County Animal Shelter is located at 333 Wire Rd, Aiken, SC. ☺️
