Veteran Owned & Operated in Cheyenne, WY. At Lima Charlie Dog Training we use the Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (L.I.M.A.) approach of dog training. The L.I.M.A. approach to training is supported by the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, and other leaders in the dog training field! We focus on being empathetic, caring, and

using reward-based training with your wingman. We do not use pain inflicting or aversive tactics such as e-collars (shock collars), choke or prong collars, striking, “leash pops,” or gimmicky “lead the pack” mentalities. LCDT is much more simple! We believe in rewarding behavior you want, and not rewarding behavior you don’t want. After all, you wouldn’t shock or hit your copilot if he had radio troubles would you?! So why would you do it to your wingman? We prioritize:

- You wingman’s physical and nutritional wellness

- Setting your wingman up for success by managing the environment

- Positive Reinforcement

- Not rewarding undesired behaviors

As a professional dog trainer, I hear a lot about separation anxiety! But is separation anxiety really that common, and does your wingman have it?

Luckily, true separation anxiety is relatively rare in dogs. All the talk we hear about separation anxiety, in many cases, is not necessarily separation anxiety at all. Just because your wingman redesigned your couch while you were at work doesn’t necessarily mean he has separation anxiety! Your wingman could be thrilled you left so he can get back to all that awesome stuffing in the sofa!

Quick Tip:
Keep comings and goings loving, but relaxed! We recommend talking to your wingman like you’d talk to a spouse or partner. Imagine if your spouse said “OHHH MY GOODNESS SWEETHEART! I gotta go to work! I am so sorry. I’m gonna miss you so much. I’m so sorry I have to go. I’ll be back as soon as I can!” Are you going to war?! That makes me nervous! No wonder our wingman would be freaked out! Instead, a simple “Okay! I’m heading to work. I love you! Be good today.” will help keep everyone much more calm!
