Adoptable Alert!!!

Green anole Absinthe took a Thanksgiving adventure that inadvertently brought them to a flower shop on Southport - not the best habitat for these tropical reptiles. This small sweetie is already chomping down on appropriate insects, and they will go to their forever home with a complete bioactive terrarium (quite an upgrade, if you ask us!).

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday! It's a global day to support organizations and communities… and that means animal rescues… Since 2021 we have rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed birds, reptiles, and more.

We are the only organization specializing and focusing on what we do in the Chicagoland area. Neighbors call us, law enforcement agencies seek our help; and we are here 365 days a year to do just that. We take calls, make vet runs, attempt to reunite stray exotics, and more. And to help us continue to make that difference, we are making it even easier to support CLEAR...

Happy Monday, CLEARies! We wanted to give you a quick alumni update on Marzipan and the gang (zebra finches) are doing great! We are so grateful for the quick action and generosity of our community.

The call comes in: Primrose, a plant shop on Southport, has welcomed an unexpected guest- a green anole.

Fortunately for our new friend, dubbed Absinthe, our spiffy volunteer Kyle likes to set up terrariums in advance of the reptile and amphibian guests that often take unexpected trips to our area via produce and greenery.

Thanks, Kyle! You're safe, Absinthe. ❤️ After giving this little sweetie a few weeks to rest and recuperate, they will be looking for their forever home.

We have so much to be thankful for today!

Hooray for Quaker Parrot Green Bean, our longest resident, who went home with our friend Dannie. Dannie moved out to Oregon earlier in the year, but kept one particular haricot vert in mind. When she came back to Chicago for Thanksgiving she made all the appropriate arrangements to make Green Bean our new west coast ambassador! We made sure Green Bean had a health certificate, Dannie made sure he has a travel safe carrier, and off they will go. We're so happy for them both!

Finchly update! It's been 37 days since the Zebra finches went from encrusted, rusty, overcrowded neglect in an Uptown alley to living it up properly with us.
They LOVE their swings. 🥹 This was our largest rescue and transfer to date-- and it went amazing! In light of this large, successful transfer, CLEAR needs your help restocking some of our cages, carriers, and a few other items. Donating to CLEAR is *easy*-- with more than several ways to support us.
