Happy Little Finches
Happy Friday CLEARies!
Finchly update! It's been 37 days since the Zebra finches went from encrusted, rusty, overcrowded neglect in an Uptown alley to living it up properly with us.
They LOVE their swings. 🥹 This was our largest rescue and transfer to date-- and it went amazing! In light of this large, successful transfer, CLEAR needs your help restocking some of our cages, carriers, and a few other items. Donating to CLEAR is *easy*-- with more than several ways to support us.
1. You can donate to our ongoing paypal campaign-- it's easy, online, and secure.

Marzipan the Zebra Finch
Zebra finch Marzipan enjoys some much needed seedly enrichment 🤩
If you haven't been following the zebra finch saga... A good samaritan called the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors about 2 dumped cages in an alley... full of finches! We have been working tirelessly all week to get these little meepers up to finch speed and health. CLEARies, we can't do it without you.

Finches!
I know your heart feels for these little meepers. The long journey of recovery for 24 finches began on Wednesday afternoon. A good samaritan called the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors about 2 dumped cages in an alley... full of finches! (More finches than is reasonable... definitely. A good finch flock is like... 4 or 5?...) We sprang into action and several volunteers transported the flock in two halves-- one to our Executive Director's home and the other half to another foster volunteer.
So, we spend the evening examing finches, checking them physically, recording their sex and age approximations. We photographed and catalogued all 24 of them. It takes time and love to get sweet babies adopted. We are teaching them that there's no need to fight over food-- because there is plenty now. There's no need to poop in water to claim it-- there's plenty now.
They had trouble flying-- and were crowding each other for perch space... when we got them moved into an adequate cage space with perches and enrichment-- they seem so much more calm after just a day. Imagine how awesome they will be doing in a week? A month? They have such great potential to be happy, healthy, and part of a loving home.
But, CLEARies, we can't do it without you. We need your help to support these 24 little lives. Monetary donations can be made to our paypal directly here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?campaign_id=XRC7K4N5XGXU6
As always, you can also make a direct donation to our lovely friends at the Chicago Exotics Animal Hospital for our account. Just ask to donate to the CLEAR account.
Let's work together to get these little ones happy, healthy, and safely in their foever homes!

Tweety is living HIS BEST LIFE
Spoiled bird 🦜 update 💚
Alumni Tweety now drinks his water out a special little bowl, not the one in his cage, that I hold for him to drink from while perched on my shoulder. And he likes to drink his water directly after breakfast. What a life! Congratulations on everything wonderful to Tweety and his forever family.

You've seen Lady and the Tramp share spaghetti, but have you seen Mr. Freeze and Sheridan split a piece of millet? 😍
🎶It's a love story, baby just say yes.🎶
It has been 30 days since Mr. Freeze and a dead sibling were dumped in an alley in Uptown in January. His medical concerns have resolved for the most part and today he decided to come out and visit with the flock for the first time. He is such a happy boy and best of all, he has an experienced forever home waiting for him! 🥳🥳🥳
