As the top pet care business, in the South Loop of Chicago, our mission is to help your furry friend be both physically and mentally healthy through training and exercise. We are recognized for our outstanding dog walking abilities, which all include complimentary behavior training reinforcement, and take pride in being able to walk dogs of all personalities, size, and age. Our behavior reinforcement training includes, but is not limited to, teaching your dog to not pull, take treats gently, not to jump, proper elevator etiquette, and to not eat things on the street. Krista Toth has always had a passion for pets. When she was only 11 years old she began to train dogs, she eventually went on to training and showing dogs professionally. After meeting so many people and their furry companions she decided to start her own dog walking and pet care business.

🐾 Meet Ozar — A Dream 27 Years in the Making 🐾
Before I founded Pet & Home Pros in 1998, I raised and competed with my Rottweiler, Embo Von Hedlehaus, in obedience, agility, scent work, and conformation. Those early experiences shaped everything I believe about training—building on trust, structure, communication, and a strong bond between human and dog.
✨ Now, I’m coming full circle. ✨ Meet Ozar—my next working partner and future sport prospect! Together, we’ll be stepping back into the world of dog sports, where timing, precision, obedience, and leadership all come together. This journey is about continuing to grow as a trainer so I can bring even more knowledge and perspective to my clients and their pups.
Ozar will grow up alongside your dogs, learning the same foundations we practice every day—calm mindset, good manners, and confidence. I can’t wait to share his adventures, milestones, and everything we learn along the way.

Fun Fact Friday: Puppy Growth Matters 🦴
Take a look at these X-rays! On the Right — a puppy’s leg full of wide gaps. On the Left — a grown dog’s leg, fully fused and strong.
When your puppy comes home, remember — their bones and joints are still developing. Those “joints” are mostly soft tissue, so every big jump, slippery floor, or hard landing puts stress on those fragile growth plates.
⚖️ Keep them lean! Extra weight might look cute, but it adds serious strain to growing bones and ligaments — which can lead to long-term joint issues later in life.
💡 Let them grow slow. Avoid high-impact play, stairs, and long walks until your vet gives the all-clear. Gentle, age-appropriate exercise helps build coordination, confidence, and strength safely.
You only get one chance to grow them right — short, gentle play today means strong, healthy joints for life. 💛
