Welcome to MetroVet, Dr. Abdel Mageed!

Dr. Mageed grew up in Florida and spent summers with her family in Egypt. She has worked with both wildlife and small animals while attending Florida State University. After graduation, she lived in Egypt working with horses around Cairo. We are thrilled to have her on our team! ❤

Picture-perfect Dante is a shining example of the power of Happy Visits! Dante’s parents bring him by a couple times a month to say hello, get head pats and treats, and spend some time at the vet without getting examined or vaccinated. Before too long, he started to look forward to coming to visit all his MetroVet friends 💕. We hope this will ease any future anxieties when he needs to see us for medical care!

Eddy may look like a cowardly lion, but he showed all his courage for his medicated foot soak! When our furry friends have itchy or painful feet, we give them a paw-ticure and soak their feet in a disinfectant wash. It’s not often a patient has all four feet in bowls, though! Sweet Eddy will have happy healthy paws before he knows it 🐶❤️‍🩹

From 3 months to 3 years! It’s been a joy to watch Fury the Alaskan Klee Kai grow from a puppy not much bigger than a Coke can to a big boy who was VERY brave for his exam and vaccines 🥰

We believe that Independence Day can be a blast for both you and your pets! Here are some essential tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration with your furry companions:

🔥 Keep Fireworks Out of Reach: Fireworks can be scary and dangerous for pets. Keep them securely stored in a pet-proof area to prevent accidental ingestion or burns.

🐕🐈 Stay Indoors: Loud fireworks noises can cause anxiety in pets. Create a quiet, comfortable space indoors where they can feel safe. Playing soothing music or using white noise machines can help mask the outside noise.

💥 Identification is Key: Ensure your pets are wearing proper identification tags or have microchips with updated contact information. In case of an accidental escape, it will increase the chances of a safe return.

🍽 Pet-Friendly Treats Only: While we enjoy BBQs and festive foods, many human treats can be harmful to our furry friends. Avoid sharing foods like chocolate, alcohol, onions, and others that are toxic to pets.

5:00 PM Update: Our Hearts Are Full, But So Are Our Kennels

Here at CACC, we see countless furry faces come through our doors every day. We do everything we can – providing medical care, shelter, and endless cuddles – but we can't give them what they crave most: a family.

Right now, our kennels are once again full, with many pets patiently waiting for their turn.

This past Friday through Sunday, we took in 81 strays, 9 owner surrenders, and 11 confiscates. Thankfully we had 29 pet adoptions, 8 pets were reunited with their families and 18 pets were transferred into rescue thanks to our amazing rescue partners. This is constant, you may be tired of hearing its everywhere, so are we.

Our waiting list of people wanting to surrender their own pet is growing daily. We are working tirelessly to help these animals. PLEASE help spread the word that we need adopters, our rescues need fosters and we need you, our community. Those few that keep blaming CACC and that we don’t do enough, help us. Come volunteer, help with transports, foster. We cannot do this alone.

EVERY ANIMAL entering CACC should be considered urgent. We have many pets that can leave today, if they leave it creates SPACE.

❤️ Adopt! Consider opening your heart and home to a furry friend. Adoption hours are daily from 12-6 PM.
Spread the word! Share this post and encourage your friends and family to consider adopting.

❤️ Volunteer! Lend a helping hand with socializing animals or other shelter needs.

❤️ Foster! Not ready for a forever friend? Consider fostering a pet through one of our amazing rescue partners. They rely on foster homes to free up space and give animals a chance to thrive in a loving home environment.

Together, we can make a difference. Every life saved starts with a decision.
