FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE!
Beautiful and super sweet 1 year old Habanero was recently transferred out of animal control, but is now hospitalized after being diagnosed with potentially fatal panleukopenia. He is in isolation and receiving supportive care to help his body fight off this insidious disease that affects the intestinal lining and white blood cells.
Cost of treatment is estimated to be $6000 and we could sure use your help! To make a donation, click on the following link: https://fcacc.org/donate/
Please send positive thoughts Habanero's way, too.
Thank you!

FEATURED FELINE
Meet Ana
Six year old Ana is a quirky, loving and sweet, spontaneous kitty! She is very expressive with her face and will follow you wherever you go. She loves to play with feather toys, tunnels, or watch TV with you on the couch, and she enjoys passing the time perched on her cat tower watching the world go by. You can often find Ana sunbathing by a window or snoozing in her favorite tent. Ana is sweet and loving, but she has a tendency to "nip" a little at times when over stimulated as some cats do (not aggressively, though), so she is best suited for a home with an experienced cat owner and no young children.
Ana has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV tested negative. Ana has only one kidney (it is believed she was born that way), but recent blood work shows that her kidney function is good she is a healthy, happy kitty!

HEFTY, HEFTY, HEFTY!

At 24 pounds, this big boy has it all! You would be hard pressed to find a more lovable, sweet, and affectionate kitty than Mihai. He loves being petted and brushed and will snuggle up close any chance he gets, all the while “making biscuits”. And don’t let his size fool you, he has a playful side, as well. He entertains himself playing with catnip toys, his kicker toy, and small mouse, or just looking out the window. He also enjoys a daily cat nap (or two, three, or more!) Mihai moved into his foster home like he’s lived there all his life. He is a very well-behaved house guest with excellent litterbox habits and uses his cardboard scratcher religiously. With the exception of his sweet little meows and trills, he’s very quiet.
Due to his calm, go with the flow, demeanor, Mihai may do well in a home with children and/or other pets. Surprisingly, he’s not a big eater, though it may be because he was fed people food as he seems to have an affinity for bacon!
We guarantee this big fellow won’t be climbing your drapes or jumping up on your shelves. He’ll just provide you with a lifetime of love and appreciation for giving him a forever home.
Mihai has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV tested negative.
Don’t let someone beat you to adopting the cat of a lifetime. There's so much there to love!
Applications can be obtained by emailing [email protected].

FEATURED FELINE - Whiskers De La Hoya
A battered stray kitty knew just where to go when he showed up one night at the doorstep of one of our amazing foster caregivers who took him in and provided him with medical care and lots of TLC. Even though he's obviously had a rough go for the time he was living on the streets, Whiskers De La Hoya is such a sweet boy and is a lover, not a fighter. He was obviously someone's cat at one time as he is very social and loves being petted and hanging out with you. He gives the best forehead bumps, too, and can be a little chatty at times. Whiskers moved right into his foster home like he's lived there all his life and will assuredly adjust to his forever home just as readily. He even gets along with other cats!
Whiskers is still a little rough-looking around the edges, but his wounds have healed, his hair is growing back, and soon he will be the handsomest of boys that we know he is.
Whiskers De La Hoya has been neutered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV tested negative, and vaccinated.
Adopt this sweet boy and you will receive a lifetime of his love and gratitude. To obtain an application, email [email protected].

Featured Feline Friday

Mikey is Mr. Congeniality. He is so outgoing and sweet, and he seems to love meeting new people. When he’s not playing with toys or wrestling with his brother, Nicky, he loves to sit on your lap for some cuddles, or you can hold him like a baby and pet his striped belly. He's happy as long as he's getting attention. He is on his way to becoming a great lap cat.
Nicky started out a bit more reserved than his brother, Mikey, but now comes over to say hello and enjoy some pets every time we see him. When it comes to playtime, though, he sheds any residual shyness and has so much fun. He could play forever! He loves to sneak up and tackle his brother, but he also will snuggle up with him for nap time
Given their outgoing personalities, they may be suitable for a home with children, and/or other pets.
Mikey and Nicky have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV tested negative.
To obtain an application to adopt this dynamic duo, email [email protected].

Double Trouble: Meet the Kittens Who Stole Our Hearts (and Need Yours!)

Calling all cat lovers! On June 1st, FCACC (Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control) invites you to meet two adorable rescue kittens who recently arrived at CACC in need of care.

These precious fuzzballs won't be ready for adoption for another month, but that doesn't mean you can't share the cuteness! Join us on June 1st for a chance to meet these purrfect little cuddle monsters.

Here's why you should come:

•Adorable Overload: Prepare to be smitten by these playful kittens! They'll be stealing hearts and warming laps (with supervision, of course!).

•Help a Cause: Your visit will help spread awareness about FCACC's commitment to CACC animals with special needs like Tangerine and Kumquat.

•Show Your Support: This program and the After Hours program ensure critically ill or injured animals arriving at CACC after hours receive immediate care.

Come for the kitties, stay for the cause!

This is a no-obligation event, but any contributions you make to FCACC will be purr-fectly appreciated!

Event Details:
•Date: June 1st, 2pm-4pm
•Location: Petco, 440 N Orleans

Can't make it? No worries! Follow Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control on social media for updates on Tangerine and Kumquat and ways to donate to the care of all CACC animals.

FEATURED FELINES - Starlene and Vinny
Starlene is a gorgeous little lady with a very calm personality. She loves being pet, playing with crinkly balls, and she always sleeps with her brother, Vinny. She is very curious and will follow you around "helping" with whatever you are doing. She often asks for attention by rubbing on your legs or making biscuits on your lap. She's a sweetie who would love to be your shadow sidekick.
Vinny is a super fun guy! He loves to greet you in the morning and spends a lot of time napping snuggled up in the sunshine. He's silly and likes to bug his sister, Starlene, into wrestling with him. He's a wonderfully social kitty, but can also be independent and doesn't beg for your attention 24/7. He's kid friendly, but isn't too sure yet about dogs. Vinny will fit into almost any household as long as there is someone to adore him!
For more information about 4 month old Starlene and/or Vinny, email [email protected]
