The Keyboard Cat Lounge

Our dream has always been to open a venue for local musicians and artists to display their talent and present their passion to the world. We've seen various bars and venues come and go, without any of them putting a real focus on the importance of the artists that perform at these venues. Keyboard Cat Lounge. Local talent, local brews. The KCL will be a venue for performances by local indie rock,

hip-hop, folk, pop and Hispanic music artists at night; and a space that can be used for art gallery and craft events during the day. We want to focus on getting the names of these talented people out there and helping them profit from their talent. Being artists ourselves, we know the struggle of earning from our own art. Most galleries take 50% commission on their featured artists work. Most musicians that play shows in Chicago get paid in drink tickets & a negligible percentage of door sales. We want to be a small beacon of light in the darkness that is the Chicago Art Scene. By providing musicians with a larger cut of ticket sales, and providing artists with the opportunity to keep 100% of money made on their art sales, we plan to change the way musicians and artists are treated in Chicago.
