7 hours later…Today was a new first for us! We found a perfect senior small dog sanctuary, and they graciously accepted our Sadie! After months of trying, we could not find Sadie an adopter or even a foster home and were battling the thought of having to euthanize her, then we discovered The Senior Scenter which put those fears to rest. What a fabulous place, awesome people, and a magnificent drive through the mountains! Please follow The Senior Scenter and consider making a donation, they do amazing things for these little seniors that nobody else wants.

On a cold morning like today, we'd like to remind animal owners that failure to provide them with adequate shelter is a crime. Our Animal Control team members will be giving extra attention to shelter issues over the next several days.

Under O.C.G.A. § 16-12-4, a person commits the offense of cruelty to animals when they cause suffering to an animal, which can easily occur when temperatures are below freezing. If you see pets left outside in extreme temperatures, please contact Animal Control at 706-375-2100 and press 1. You can also contact Animal Control by email at [email protected].

Bethany came to us on 6/26/2024 after she had been shot and left for dead. She has healed up well, been fully vetted and as you can she, she listens well when her foster sister gives commands! Bethany is currently in a foster home with other dogs, though her adoptive home will need a dog who can match her medium to high energy. She LOVES to play! Bethany is located in Chickamauga, GA. and is waiting for her forever family.
