Life has been crazy lately and I completely forgot to share that Nash turned 2!! This guy has been so fun to have as a part of the family and has such goofy personality. Nash is a big guy and still has a little bit of filling out to do yet and I can’t wait to see what he looks like in a few more months. I also attached a throw back video of one of his first days home with us 🥰 A funny note to that video, the shipper that brought him home said that he howled to the music his whole ride here 😅❤️

Custom collars in the works for the crew!

I was on the hunt for custom collars and was particular on what I wanted, since our dogs do various things and events.

All of the hardware used is stainless steel and the collars have cobra buckles that are more sturdy than your average buckle.

I also wanted leather but leather eventually gets supple and wears over time, so I opted for a leather weight biothane. It has the look of leather but will be easy to clean when needed.

When our dogs run in trials, they can not have any hanging tags and these screw in tags avoid that, while also giving me the peace of mind that they have some form of identification on at all times.

FastCAT day one:

This was the only clip I was able to get, Roxy is working toward achieving her DCAT title this year and had two great runs today.

Nash also attended, but is new to FastCAT and was a little nervous at first.
He ran 23.5mph for his last run which I’m pretty proud of for his first time out. They will be running again tomorrow and hopefully I can sneak in a few clips of him.🐾

A few quick pictures of some of our dogs and some food for thought:

Many people forget (including myself) how important just simply walking your dog is, life gets crazy, we plan, and go, go, go, and so do our dogs right along with us.

For some, walks are boring and we have no interest in them because of that. But sometimes it gives your dogs that mental reset that they need and there are so many training opportunities within a simple walk.

All dogs need a mental reset just like we do, ESPECIALLY herding breeds and this does just that for them. It’s important to remind them and ourselves that training days are sometimes just a simple walk, and nothing more.

Happy Memorial Day!

The EJC Australian Cattle Dog crew will be attending the Sheboygan dog training club FastCAT June 21st and 22nd.

Roxy (pictured) is working on achieving her DCAT and this year will be Nash’s first year participating and we are super excited!

We love the environment here as everyone has always been very welcoming and FastCATs are something we all enjoy doing.

We will post updates of more events we will be attending as we know more, and can’t wait to share with you all!

Its been a while since we’ve been on here and wanted to post a quick update! Enjoy these great pictures of some of our dogs enjoying a fun run in FastCAT, EJC Lonesome Oak’s Rockin’ Roxy (Roxy) and R***r. If you haven’t seen our previous posts or followed, Roxy is our upcoming female and R***r is an oddball that ended up staying with us.

A little back story on these two, Roxy (left) is a high energy girl who keeps me going and is OBSESSED with chuck-it balls, only the light blue ones, she knows the difference. 🤦‍♀️ This girl is so smart some days I can’t believe the things she thinks of. She has a drive that drives me crazy, but I also love her for it and all of what she shows the breed is capable of. R***r (right), he’s odd in every which way with his long hair on top of being deaf, but is the sweetest dog out there and wouldn’t trade him for anything. Although Roxy is such a high energy dog, she has become the best guide dog for R***r and these pictures show their duo so well.

This was R***r’s first run ever and I’m so happy we have these for memories! Unofficially, Roxy obtained her BCAT this season! She also attended her first agility trial this summer and we can’t wait to get into that more!

If your looking for something extra to do with your dog, that is fun for everyone FastCAT is a great inlet for getting started into dog sports. It allows your dog to have fun, see sights, and RUN!!🤩

We’ve been pretty absent on here lately and wanted to post a quick update! Many of you who follow our page know that we have been in the process of changing our program from CKC registered dogs to AKC registered dogs. While we still own our CKC registered dogs and they have a forever home here, we added our AKC stud to the family back in February and haven’t gotten a chance to introduce him….
Meet “4 Hills Nashville Heartbreaker EJC” aka Nash
This guy is super sweet and we are so happy to have him with us, there isn’t a mean bone in him and he has an “old soul” personality. He is currently getting to grow up and going through obedience training along the way. We can’t wait to share more updates of him and his progress!

An early 7 week update!
It been crazy around here and we haven’t been able to get good pictures of these guys but we finally got some! Everyone was super interested in checking out the camera and staying on the go, so I had to come up with some unique distractions to keep their attention and I definitely got some looks for it!
This coming week everyone will be getting their first baths and last nail trims to get ready to go home already! This has by far been the most quiet and sweetest litter we have had and we will miss them all!
