Okay folks, we wanted to take time to just inform our following of what's going on. If you know us personally, you know that we would help anyone with anything and ask for nothing in return. And we unfortunately are not able to physically be on site to help. So we are asking for our followers to just take a look at everyone needing help. There are so many that need so much. Dad would be gone by now if he could while mom watches the farm. So please go check them out and see if you can help in anyway. We need to come together as a community and help our neighbors, even if they are states away.

Pearl’s Piggy Rescue

This started because we got Pearl, an American Mini Pig. That can really be any breed of mini pig. I knew that Pearl could be 100+ pounds, so no surprises there. I found out that all the rumors of pigs are true; pigs are super smart, they are very misunderstood, they are out of control aggressive if not spayed or neutered. They live to be 12-15 years old, or more! I already knew that pig rescues everywhere are overflowing and pet pigs are “turned loose” regularly-this is just terrible. Then I heard of a pig named Wilbur, who lives near by. He is older, almost 15. Rumor had it that he was malnourished, super long feet & tusks, standing in his own waste up to his knees, and barely had enough room to turn around in his pen. Myself & others tried to educate his owner, who at 1 point said ok, how about you take him. I was thrilled! I could do that! Then as the plans were being made to pick him up, she changed her mind, then she cut off all communication with us. That left myself & my daughter heart broke. We decided that if we couldn’t save Wilbur, there were others we could help. So we decided to start Pearl’s Piggy Rescue, because for the love of Pearl and all the love she has given us, we didn't want other pigs to be neglected or homeless. Pigs are very emotional critters, they do indeed feel love, or strong attachment, to their owners and their critter friends. They truly get depressed and mourn if a critter friend dies, especially if it’s another pig friend. They can get terribly depressed when they are rehomed, which is why we ask people to be 100% informed about mini pigs and all of the issues before getting them.
