Buster is having a really rough day. He looks so much worse today than he did yesterday. His fat pads are very sunken in and so are his eyes and his beard. No energy. I pray the bloodwork comes back quickly so we can figure out what’s going on with this baby and hopefully help him. Please send him your positive thoughts. He really needs them. 💕💕

Good news on Jelly Bean! She has gained 10 grams since her last visit! (Still not up to her best weight yet) She was having a really good day today and was very active while we were there. The vet was pleasantly surprised at how well she’s doing. I told her today is a good day. She has not so good ones too.
Now, the not good news on Jelly Bean… I was concerned about her eye this weekend when I noticed the eyeball had recessed and was watering my a lot. Then yesterday when I had her out, I noticed a tiny growth on her top eye lid. Today, it’s twice that size. I showed the vet, and she’s thinking it’s probably the same thing that was in her tail and that’s on the back of her neck. All we can do is hope it doesn’t grow rapidly because that will put pressure on her eye. 🤞🏼
But overall, it was a really good visit. I’m so proud of JB!! She’s such a strong little fighter. Each time I start to really worry that it might be time, she proves me wrong by having a great day again. We love you Jelly!!! Keep up the fight! ♥️♥️♥️

40 minutes late for our vet appointment (because my brain is sometimes stupid and gets scrambled) then locked my keys in the car with it running (because I had a rescue inside and didn’t want him to get cold). What chaos!!! Now just waiting for JB to be seen. Buster had his blood drawn so now we just wait for the results. 🤞🏼

We have a male and a female crested gecko, both ready to be adopted. They each come with their own AMAZING set up!! The male is sketchy and isn’t a fan of being handled but the female is more handleable. They’re both very entertaining to watch though!! 5 snakes in last night, 4 snakes out today! I want to say thank you to Christy Phibbs & Christina Lynn Peters for taking the snakes today and fostering them until we can find them forever homes!! ♥️💕♥️
We are at capacity and appreciate when people are able to help us out and care for these babies when we simply cannot.

Jelly Bean will be having a recheck at the vet this Thursday. I’m not sure there is anything else we can do for her but I’d like to see what the vet says. She sleeps a lot now’. Has stopped eating on her own but devours the Repashy I feed her. One of her eyes is very watery and seems sunken in. All these will be addressed at the vet. ♥️

Let’s talk about cohabitation for a bit. Bearded dragons are solitary creatures (as are most reptiles). If you put multiple in a enclosure, they’re bound to fight eventually. This can cause severe injuries or even death to one or both dragons.
Even if they don’t fight immediately, one will be more dominant than the other. What does this mean? It means one will take the majority of the heat and uvb and even eat most of the food. Almost always there will be one dragon that thrives and one that will not.
Even having multiple dragons out together is dangerous. Even if you’re “right there watching”. It takes a single second for one dragon to decide to attack. Then it’s too late.
Please do not keep multiple dragons in an enclosure. Please do not have “play dates” or hang out time for your dragons. They don’t need it or even want it.
Let’s keep your babies safe! ♥️💗♥️
