Hiiiiiii, my name is Danielle, I am the owner of Paws & Hooves Pet Care, and I am a huge animal lover. I have been taking care of fur babies since I was a little girl. I started riding horses when I was 7 years old and have been riding/around horses ever since. At the age of 13 I got my first job working at a pet kennel, where I cared for many dogs & cats, gave them baths, groomed them, and learne
d more about training. By the time I was 16, I was the manager of the kennel, I was grooming the show dogs of the kennel, and training puppies. Later on, I started working at a pet sitting company in my area, where I went to customers houses, walked their dogs, took care of cats, took care of small pets such as sugar gliders, snakes, hedgehogs, and hamsters. I picked up pets from the vets and took them to the customers house or stayed overnight when it was needed. My junior and senior of high school year, I was interning at two different vet clinics, one being a small animal clinic focusing on cats & dogs, and the other one being a large animal vet focusing mainly on horses. Here I learned all about how to administer medications & vaccines. After I graduated high-school I attended Delaware Valley College in PA, studying Livestock Science & Management. I worked hands on daily with horses, dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, goats & pigs. While at college I worked at a horse barn part time, caring for 5 show horses. I also worked on two different dairy farms, milking, breeding, and administering vaccines/medications. After college I worked on a dairy farm close to home, milking, breeding, helping assist the delivery of calves, and administering vaccines/medications. I now own and operate my own farm which I have been doing for almost 9 years, where I have horses, beef cattle, dairy cattle that I rescued from slaughter, goats, pigs, 7 dogs, and 6 large poultry houses. I have still been dog sitting for my neighbors, family, and friends when they are on vacation or just working late. I have always had a love for animals ever since I can remember, from dogs & cats to horses & cattle, I love them all!! I serve the Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester, and Queen Anne Counties. My services include Dog Walking, Cat Sitting, Drop In Visits, Private Boarding, Transportation, and Farm Care.
* Does your dog need more exercise? Do you feel guilty because your dog has to stay in his crate all day while you’re working? Dog walking services are great to schedule if you’re tired of rushing home at lunch or working late if your dog is anxious or hyper. Regular dog walking visits are great for new adoptees, puppies and even seniors
*For Private Boarding, I live on a 40-acre farm out in the country where the dogs can get out to run/walk around the farm with me or go swimming in the pond on a hot summer day to cool off. My back yard is fenced in to play in while we are not roaming around the farm. I have 7 lovable fur babies to keep your pet company and to have furry friends to play with. I also have several dog kennels if your pet needs to be in a crate during his/her stay.
*Drop In Visits include, coming to YOUR home to walk your dog/play with them in the back yard if you have one, take care of your cats or exotic pets (Ferrets, Gerbils, Amphibians, Turtles, Sugar Gliders, Hedgehogs) administered medications, and daily feedings.
*Farm Care includes, taking care of horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, donkeys, llamas, and alpacas. Daily feeding and watering of animals, turning your horses and cattle out to pasture, mucking stalls, collecting chicken eggs, opening coops in the morning and at night, and medicating animals.
*Transportation includes, transporting your pet to and from the vets or to and from the groomers if you don’t have time to go or can’t get off of work to take your pet
Your pet care cost is based on many things, such as:
• Number of pets you have
• Pet medication duties or care duties
• Job duties (additional work or cleaning around your house)
• Length of time at your house
• Drive time (includes gas usage and milage)
Farm sitting is a great benefit to people with backyard chickens, horses, pigs and a combination of them all. We hope you take advantage of what we offer and book a vacation or two and enjoy some time away from home!! The price of your services depends on the length of time involved, the difficulty of the job, the distance we’ll travel and the number of visits we’ll make. You can call me at 410.924.4045 or email [email protected]. During our consultation we’ll talk about everything that you’ll need done and walk-through specific tasks to make sure the animals are comfortable with us.
