Pit Road K9 Rescue & Sanctuary We are a No KILL non-profit dog shelter and sanctuary in the Tidewater Virginia area. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome Bully breeds.

Dogs that are not adopted are given sanctuary for the rest of their lives.

Last night our sweet Willow crossed the. Rainbow Bridge. Rescued from Culpeper, she was an overbred momma who had clearly had multiple litters.
She seemed fine until she collapsed by the water bowl. We transported her to the Animal Emergency Center where the amazing Dr. McNulty discovered that Willow was in congestive heart failure. It happened so fast. While on oxygen, she was able to relax. It was them that we decided to let her go.
Carla and I were with her to the end.
She was such a wonderful pup and we will miss her.

Delilah is a loving, playful dog looking for her forever home! When we first welcomed her, she was anxious and underweight, but with lots of love and care, she's truly blossomed into a happy, affectionate companion. 💕

Pit Road family, we really need your help.
This little guy was surrendered to us after his family was unable to pay for his life saving surgery. He had a pr*****ed re**um and needed emergency surgery.
Dr. Averitt at Toano Animal Clinic performed the surgery.
The bill was very expensive and we could really use your donations.
I will attach a copy of the invoice.

Who wants to have fun this Saturday?? Pit Road Rescue will be manning Water Stop 3 for the Colonial Half Marathon in Williamsburg.
Set up is at 8:30 am. After the run we will be rewarded with pizza, beer and an amazing Hawaiian soup (so yummy).
It is such a fun event and one that we really enjoy. It is amazing to watch how fast some of the runners finish.
