Update from Leah Tower with Sugar Haven Rescue on Herbert, Elmer, Otto & Ernest. The elderly boys seen the exotic vet this past Wednesday in Massachusetts! They definitely needed medical care due to severe dental disease they have acquired with age and poor health and Otto has a tumor on his chest. They could do a biopsy on it and remove it but with the boys already being 15 the risk more than likely outweighs the benefit.
The main thing is to keep them comfortable and as they can be and to get them some antibiotics to help with their infection they would have due to the severe dental disease. They will be tested for bacteria infections as well as yeast. Thank you so much leah for caring for these boys and all of your other gliders you have rescued! You are an amazing and kind woman and I’m so lucky to have gotten the pleasure of meeting you! You’re a life saver ❣️

Here are my 4 little guys I helped rescue! I’m so excited for them to get the medicine and treatment they desperately need! 🥹😍 I love you Herbert, Otto, Elmer & Ernest!

Just picked up these four 15yo boys in Ohio. There appears to be some sort of medical issues going on so we will be getting them all properly vetted ASAP.

Rescued these three rats today from awful living conditions… I had a huge pawhut cage out in my shed collecting dust and seen these babies needed help so I immediately contacted my friend that would take wonderful care of them and offered him the cage and asked if he would like to rescue these little things.
Of course he said yes, now they have a wonderful loving home 🐀 they will be taken care of and have happy lives now.
Someone having to surrender their pets can be very hard decision but please don’t ever let it get this bad, reach out and find them help! One simple decision can change an animals entire life. These babies were soaked in urine and f***s and now they will have a nice warm bath, their tummies will be full from good food and they will be snuggled up all warm and clean.

My little old men got a nice warm bath, dried very carefully, clean bedding to snuggle in and treats. They have to feel so much better after they are all warm and snuggly. I love them so much, it’s so hard knowing they are going to be leaving in a couple days but they will get excellent veterinary care with Leah with sugar haven rescue! They are 15 & are nearing the end of their life as gliders normally only live to be 15 in captivity.. I just want them to be as happy, comfortable and healthy as they can be 🥰 I know these poor babies have an infection most likely from dental issues and they desperately need antibiotics. Gliders do not need bathed unless there are health issues causing them to be dirty and these guys were rescued about a year ago. I’m so glad I found them help!
Leah is coming all the way from Massachusetts, she’s in Illinois now and will be headed to Indiana, Dayton and then Circleville. I can’t wait to meet her, She is an amazing and caring lady!

Hello everyone my name is Jamie & I have a sanctuary I run in my home, I’m very knowledgeable in all types of exotic and small animals ranging from small and large birds, hamsters, chinchillas, iv had 22 ferrets, 15 sugar gliders, 6 hedgehogs, several reptiles and amphibians.

Here’s a few pictures of my furbabys and past rescues so the post doesn’t get lost.
I’m located in Circleville Ohio and can travel within reason. All of my pets are cared for with lots of love and compassion. I love giving animals of all kinds a wonderful home 🥰
I do not currently take in Guinea pigs/rabbits/cats/dogs or other livestock but I do have the resources to help find them a home!!
I personally have a hamster, & I have my two sugar glider colony’s ( 4 male/3 female separated) and 12 parakeets that are my personal pets due to age and special requirements and also a lovebird. I also have 4 dogs, one of them is a amputee 💕

NOTE: I currently do not have any pets for rehome at this time, they have all found loving homes!

2 brother bunnies rehomed to their new safe location! They will be able to have a full life and a great chance away from predators, pets and vehicles.
Their mommy and other siblings was unfortunately killed. A friend reached out to me because they didn’t want the same fate for these babies. So glad I could help 🐰🐰❤️

Update on Blizzard & Ghost
(the top and bottom right) they are two of 16 ferrets i had originally rescued from Michigan!
They are doing wonderful and are VERY spoiled! They live with my sister n law, brother, niece & nephew.
I also found them a new buddy who was needing a home, his name is Marco (bottom left).
They all get along great and are called the 3 stack because this is how they love to sleep 😂

Update on the little opossum.
It makes my heart so happy that he is getting help that he needed! He also ended up getting some new buddies that are around his same age ❤️ He definitely needed care from a licensed wildlife rehabber. Thank you SO MUCH Mutt Farm Wildlife Rehabilitation for being so incredibly kind and saving this baby and the others. They are so adorable 🥹❤️

Today I got the pleasure of helping this little orphaned 13 week old male opossum go to Mutt Farm Wildlife Rehabilitation to get the care he needs to have a full life.
He was found by one of my best friends and they contacted me to help. He is so incredibly sweet and loves cuddles. As much as I’d love to keep him, I’m not a licensed rehabber (YET). Opossums especially babies have special diet requirements and the risk of metabolic bone disease is high if their strict diet requirements are not met. I wish you so much luck & love on your journey sweet baby! I’m so grateful I got to help you! Helping any and all animals is my passion and has been my entire life. My 4 not so exotic pets 🥰

Rhea is almost 7 years old and we’ve had her since she was 9 weeks old, she is a boxer/lab/pit mix and is the sweetest girl ever! She loves giving hugs and kisses & will do anything for a treat.
Daisy of course is a pug! lol she is almost 3 years old and we adopted her about 6 months ago! She fits in perfect with our little family and loves treats & playing with her fursisters. She is a great little girl and is very playful.
Arya is a chihuahua and is almost 6 years old, we have had her since she was 9 weeks old as well. She is the alpha of the pack and knows it lol 😂 she loves her unicorn toy more than anything and of course treats.
Honey is almost a year old and is a chihuahua/min pin mix and we got her when she was 9 weeks old. She sadly broke her arm when she was 7 months old. She was playing on our bed and jumped off. It was so scary, it ended up not healing correctly so it had to be amputated in the end.
She does great though and is actually the fastest pup of them all lol. She doesn’t let her being a tri paw get in the way of her living life to the fullest everyday!
All my pups are spayed except honey, she will be getting it done soon & also having SEVERAL baby teeth extracted (she’s a shark).

My Sugar Gliders 💕
I have three 3 year old females named Chloe, Zoey & Milly and I have four 15 year old males I adopted named Elmer, Herbert, Otto & Ernest. Currently working towards getting both colonys DCN cages. I only use suggie safe wheels like the free runner wheel and toys and bedding made by safe vendors. I feed OHPW diet, happy glider kibble and fruits and vegetables every night & they get their bedding changed every few days so it’s always fresh and ready to be snuggled.
Please keep in mind Sugar gliders are not for everyone, they are nocturnal and are considered a high maintenance exotic.
You have to make their main staple diet (BML,TPG or OHPW) homemade, you have to have safe items like the free runner wheel and those are 75.00 each all other wheels are not safe and can deglove/remove tails & much more. No pill Fleece is best for bedding because of their little claws get stuck they will chew their own toe/paw off to get free.
They are messy little babies because they spit food everywhere and they can not be potty trained so they kinda just go wherever and it falls to the bottom of the cage. They need to live in colonies to thrive and can die if they are lonely. They bite and can bite very hard too. They also require an exotic vet specializing in gliders which is expensive.
Please consider all of this and make sure to always do proper research on your pets needs before getting one 🥰 I’m always here to help answer any of your questions about your exotic pet!

My little rescue sugar glider Binx. Hoping to get him a buddy asap. Iv had colony’s of up to 13 of them in the past, they do best in trios.
I feed my gliders the BML diet & use only sugar glider safe products like the free runner wheel.

Throwback
When I had a rescue out of Michigan contact me and gave me 18 ferrets. They were so spoiled and had an entire room to themselves and got to free play in the room for several hours a day. They were such a handful but were so rewarding to care for them and to find them all the perfect homes in their bonded pairs 💕
