Welcome to Chilton County Animal Shelter where we connect people with animals and enrich lives!
As you all know, the county has assumed operations of the former Humane Society of Chilton County building as of January 6th, 2025. We are super excited for this new department and the opportunity to grow and work with the community.
We know there is alot of questions regarding the transition from a private operation to county operations. We can't wait to answer them all. However, while we still work out the fine line details we ask for your patience. While we understand that there is an inconvenience, we know this is a great opportunity for the community and the animals.
While we are in the middle of this transition, the Humane Society of Chilton County will be working with us and helping us with staffing some contract workers until the new county positions can be filled. So, if you or someone you know would love to work with animals everyday and would like a brand new full-time county job, please have them head on over to the Chilton County page and send in their application!
In the meantime, we are STILL accepting volunteers! So, if you were a previous Humane Society volunteer, we would LOVE to have you continue to come on out and make a much needed change for these animals!
