With Pennsylvania’s bear season wrapping up today and the statewide regular deer fi****ms season opening this Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, the Game Commission would like to remind hunters to report their big game harvests.

It’s legally your responsibility as a Pennsylvania hunter to report your big game harvests within 10 days. By reporting your harvest, you're providing information that will aid in our biologist's decision-making process and tag allocations for not only next year, but for years to come.

Pennsylvania’s regular fi****ms bear season opens Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, and runs for just four days, from Saturday, Nov. 20 to Tuesday, Nov. 23. This season also includes a Sunday hunting opportunity on Sunday, Nov. 21. Good luck. Have fun. Hunt safely.

Hunters who harvest a bear during Pennsylvania’s regular fi****ms bear season must get their bear checked at a Game Commission bear check station within 24 hours. Bear check stations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Nov. 20-22, 2021 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 23, 2021.

A list of bear check stations can be found on page 37 of your 2021-22 Hunting and Trapping Digest: (insert link). Please note, the location of the bear check station in Forest County has been moved to the Farmington Township Volunteer Fire Company, 6785 State Route 36, Leeper, PA 16233.

Pennsylvania’s black bear archery and muzzleloader seasons open this SATURDAY, October 16, 2021. Good luck, have fun and hunt safely.

Just a friendly reminder, a change adopted last year now allows properly licensed bowhunters to carry muzzleloaders when any deer or bear archery season overlaps with a muzzleloader season. Please note, bear and deer hunters must wear a minimum for 250 square inches of fluorescent orange material on their head, chest and back while participating in the muzzleloader season. Hunters harvesting bears during the statewide archery bear season, or during any early season should contact the Game Commission region office for instructions to have the animals checked within 24 hours. During the regular fi****ms season, which opens Nov. 20, 2021, a successful bear hunter must, within 24 hours, take the animal, along with his or her hunting license and bear license, to a Game Commission Bear Check Station. *CLARIFICATION POST* We sincerely apologize for any confusion the graphic on our archery season opener post this morning may have created. The statewide archery season starts today, October 2nd and runs through November 19th. The only Sunday you are permitted to hunt during archery season is Sunday, November 14th. Best of luck this archery season!
