Lambchop's eye cert came! Yay! Hips elbows and patellas when she turns 2 in a couple months :)

...and Lambchop's embark came back! Estimated genetic COI/homozygosity is 29%, which for reference is a bit higher than would be produced by a parent/child or full sibling breeding (those are 25%)

I was actually expecting in the low 30s so I was close! This is likely largely due to the breed's founders being somewhat related, as well as a bit of recent linebreeding in her pedigree. I mostly wanted to get this test done so I can use their test mating tool to project the estimated homozygosity of a litter she might have with another dog, to try and see if bringing COI down within the breed is possible.

Lambchop had her eye exam today! This result is a "breeder option" which does not affect vision and is not degenerative, according to the ophthalmologist, but she should not be bred to close relatives bc of it. Still a passing grade tho! Yaaaay Lambchop! 🎉

Been a while since I updated this! Lambchop has been slowly accruing points towards her AKC championship (she has earned her IABCA international championship already.) Here are a couple of pictures of her with Cyril at the latest show (greeting the judge and doing some tricks outside the ring)! She has 9 points now out of 15 😊 We are very proud of her!!!

She will have her genetic and eyes tested late 2021, and hips/elbows/patellas early 2022.
