I am very proud to introduce Tucker “T” to the JOG Academy family. As previously stated, he is a prospect for service work. If T is successful in his training, he will be an allergen alert, psychiatric alert, and medical alert. Some of his tasks will include retrieving life saving medication when in an anaphylactic episode occurs. T has very ambitious goals and I’m very proud of his potential and being challenged in his training.

I am very very proud of Oakley’s progress with PA training. Everyone that trains service dogs has different opinions on when a service dog should be exposed and desensitised to their gear. I believe service dogs in training should be exposed to as many things as they are comfortable - including their gear.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone that visited my page. It’s truly appreciated and encouraging to see so many interested in potentially training with us. Our reach/engagement has increased by nearly 500% in the last week alone. I truly truly appreciate everyone that’s looked at our page. Thank you very much.
Oakley - the 5 mo. old black lab we’ve been working with - has unfortunately been having Gastrointestinal issues. We’ve been fortunate that he’s made a beautiful turn around. Oakley has been working a little bit with his Public Access training and obedience. He’s made wonder progress in his focus in public as well as retaining his obedience thus far. Oakley has truly been wonderful to work with. Oakley, also, was introduced to scent training for cardiac alert. Once he has successfully started alerting to the smell, we will introduce a bringsel alert.
Here shortly, we are proud to be introducing a Border Collie puppy to our program as a Service Dog prospect. At this time, Tucker will be a board and train until the completion of his training. Tucker will be training as an allergy detection service dog, psychiatric service dog, and a cardiac alert service dog. His multipurpose status will benefit his handler greatly as they’ve gone anaphylactic on multiple occasions to multiple different allergies to foods.
Thank you all so so much again for the support on our page. I’m very grateful for y’all and it is being noticed. Thank you!
As a reminder, we know financial hardships are very very common nowadays - even amoung myself as the trainer. K9 Training can be very pricy. Our program does offer payment plans to ensure you, and your pup, get quality training that suits you and your family. Thank you so much for your support once again!

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that’s visited the training page recently. Y’all are so very appreciated. I am very happy to see everyone thats clicked in to check us out. I wanted to let everyone know that Oakley had a few issues with his GI (Gastrointestinal). I am very grateful that he’s doing a lot better. We’ve been pushing PA (Public Access) training a little more. And he’s doing very very well on his focus in public. Thank y’all again, it means the world to me.

Hey hey everyone. I wanted to introduce myself and give a little bit of insight on my experience as a handler and why JOG’s started.

First off, my name is Jay and I’ve been handling dogs for almost three years now. All this started when I had to owner train my current service dog, Gatsby. Starting out I couldn’t afford a professional trainer and couldn’t afford a program trained service dog.

Gatsby and I have worked very hard over the three years to get to where we are now. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to handle and train multiple dogs of different breeds. Each dog presented different challenges and excelled with the use of different tools all shaping my knowledge as a trainer/handler.

Pictured below are my boys. Oakley is the younger of the two. Oakley is currently my service dog in training. Oakley has been a part of our family for a little under a month now and has become a very well rounded pup.

As a handler/trainer, I use balanced training methods, but typically lean towards a force-free training style with lots of positive reinforcement. Every dog learns differently, so being mindful and open to trying different techniques will broaden your chances for your canine friend’s success

JOG stands for Jay, Oakley, and Gatsby. That’s my family, and I cannot wait to add you as a part of our family.
