Meet the adorable Darbey! 🥰 This sweet guy wasn't feeling his best and came to our ER with some tummy troubles. Poor Darbey gets a little anxious in a kennel, so we decided to get creative! ✨ We made him his very own cozy bed in one of our desk drawers right here in the ER. Cartoons are on, and he's much more relaxed and comfortable! 😊 We're so happy to report that Darbey went home with some supportive care and is expected to make a full recovery. Sending him lots of love! ❤️

Welcome to the world, little ones! 🐾

This is Leia, and she came to us for dystocia, which means she was having difficulty delivering her puppies. Thankfully, our team jumped into action quickly, and Dr. Chaudoin performed an emergency C-section to safely deliver three adorable puppies! 🐶🐶🐶

We’re happy to share that Mom and babies are all doing great and are now home getting some much-needed rest and snuggles. 💛

Say hello to Simon, a very good boy who recently needed our help at CVES. 👋 This handsome guy recently visited our ER here at CVES because his neuter incision wasn't healing quite right and had some drainage. Our team found a little bit of swelling around the area, likely just some fluid build-up under the skin as part of the healing process. Simon is now back home, resting comfortably with pain meds and antibiotics to help him heal up perfectly. We're sending him lots of love and wishing him a speedy recovery! ❤️

Did you know it takes just 6 minutes for a dog to overheat in a hot car? 🐶☀️🥵
Even with the windows cracked or parked in the shade, temperatures can rise dangerously fast—leading to serious, even fatal, consequences.

🚗🔥 The safest choice? Never leave your pet in the car.
Take them with you or leave them at home where it’s cool, with plenty of water and shade. They’ll be excited to greet you when you return! 🐾💛

Meet Hercules 🐾

Hercules came to our ER showing signs of vestibular disease, a condition that affects balance and coordination. On exam, he had a mild head tilt, rapid eye movements (nystagmus), and ataxia, which means his movements were a little wobbly or uncoordinated.

Vestibular signs often appear suddenly but typically begin to improve within 72 hours, with most pets recovering fully in 1 to 2 weeks. Hercules was treated with anti-nausea medication and supportive care and is now resting comfortably at home as he continues to heal.

We couldn’t resist giving this sweet boy lots of snuggles while he was with us. 💛

Say hello to Dolly 💛

This adorable girl came to our Internal Medicine team for help with occasional reverse sneezing and coughing. During her visit, her exam was normal, and a thoracic ultrasound showed no fluid in her chest and a structurally healthy heart—great news! 🩺

Our team discussed possible causes, like acid reflux, which can lead to coughing from throat irritation or even minor aspiration. Dolly went home with a treatment plan tailored just for her and, of course, her favorite toy by her side. 🧸🐾
