Hello friends! As I’ve said many many times, I’m a big fail at keeping the page updated/current. Before the day goes haywire I wanted to share a few things 😊 We have adopted out, transferred to other rescues, spayed and neutered a LOT of animals this year. As well as providing financial assistance to pet owners for humane euthanasia when necessary. When, or if, I ever get caught up I’ll post pictures.
However, this story from this week I HAD TO take time to share. I took in 2 pot belly pigs last night. They needed a place to go and were 1000% out of options. 2 girls, they were in their 3 rd home, 2 years old, they ARE PETS. Why is she stressing they’re PETS you might ask? Because when this 3rd home got sick of them (for nothing other than being EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE, pigs!) they called a processing plant to get rid of them. That’s right- a slaughterhouse. I’m dear friends with an employee there who called me, so you know what happened. 2 piggies landed here last night.
I can’t stress enough- DO NOT GET FARM ANIMALS FOR PETS IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING OR HOW TO CARE FOR THEM. There is NO SUCH THING AS A MINI PIG. Chickens aren’t house parrots and SHOULD NOT BE HOUSE PETS. Same with goats, cows, ponies, sheep, etc. I’ve seen it all. What I haven’t seen until now is people asking for pets to be accepted by a slaughterhouse for “euthanasia” and disposal. The girls are in the pictures below. As is a message between my friend and I. They will assumably be here a while until their FOREVER HAPPY EVER AFTER is found.
It seems as though so many people, animals, and other rescues are struggling, and in always need of donations. So, I hate to ask, but if you are able to help support the piggies, and our constant veterinary bills/spay/neuter efforts, please send a donation.
