Our bresse are growing out SO beautifully! Both roosters are looking good so both will be used in the breeding setup. All 3 hens are looking good too, one barely makes the mark but shes there! We have one laying already at 19 weeks and a second on her way soon. Cant wait to breed these beauties! These are our meat and eggs flock. If you dont know about the bresse breed, I highly recommend reading up on them, especially if you are growing your own out for food. Bresse are supposed to be the best tasting chicken in the world, better when finished the french way which we will be doing for our first set after hatch. :) Eggs and chicks credit goes to Kelly C. After some chaos with her sister eating the eggs under her, we closed her off in the kennel alone with her eggs, food, and water. Sadly the eggs we had were a tad too old so only one is growing and it is a call duck but we are super hopeful that it hatches and she gets to be a first time momma like she so desperately wants!! Super weird we couldn't get eggs for her but it happens. We just want her happy 🥰 Good luck, Bambi!

My sweet Bambi (right) has been broody for 2 weeks but unfortunately her eggs are not fertilized. Apparently shes not liking my gander this year. Flower (left) has decided she needs to protect her sister. I have had zero luck find goose or muscovy eggs for her so I gave in and gave her call duck eggs, she desperately wants to be a momma! Im worried about her size and hatching such tiny babies but we will cross fingers it all goes well! On a good note, if they hatch and survive, we will have some call ducklings available after she weans them.

Loving how this little frizzle serama boy is filling out! (Even if he doesn't cooperate with pictures 😂) My sweet Cruellas first frizzle son 🥰 He will make BEAUTIFUL babies next year!

Sadly needing to reduce the flock due to fence damage. What I have available right now is

1 golden comet hen (1.5 years old)
2 cemani/brabanter mix pullets (11 weeks old)
1 cemani/brabanter cockerel (11 weeks FREE)
1 brahma/brabanter cockerel (11 weeks FREE)
A starter flock of brabanter which consists of 1 rooster, 1 laying hen, and 2 11 week old pullet (will not separate)

Some pics are attached, Ill get more of the others and post more as I come to terms with who else I can let go of. I will not ship! Its far too hot. Local pickup only, Clarksville.

16 quail hatched 😀 we did lose one and 2 hatched with leg issues (the quail owner wasnt sure of egg age so it could easily be due to them coming from a little older eggs) but they're both doing well so far. We have decided to keep some so they're NFS just yet. Plus we need to ensure they're doing well before going to new homes. This little yellow one with the brown dot and the striped yellow will be staying 🥰

We had a neighbor who needed to rehome 2 ducklings and asked us to take them in. Welcome to the flock! Rouen and runner, both girls. Their daughter was so sad letting them go but I assured her they will be happy and she can check in on them when she wants. The little signs she made for their box are so cute and so sad at the same time. She sure made them sweet, they instantly wanted held and dont even flinch when you go to pet them. Name suggestions welcome!

While the ducklings have all sold, I just put jumbo coturnix quail into lockdown! Its unlikely I will keep any so if youre wanting quail, be on the look out for the hatching post!! :) As usual, there will be a deal on multiples and a bigger deal if you get the whole lot! 🥰

The first 10 calls are out of the incubator! 2 more are hatched but not ready to come out, and 1 more is hatching. Sadly we lost some but we celebrate the wins! NFS at this time. These were a pre-order request.

(Vulnerable moment here posting my picture, especially first thing in the morning, no judging! 😂)

I trule hate the stigma the there is on geese. Canadian geese seem to have ruined it for everyone 😂 People need to realize thay Canadian geese are wild and therefore have to be more aggressive to survive. Some other breeds tend to lean aggressive at certain times of rhe yeat but African are a different story. (Theyre often confused with Chinese but studying up on their features irs easier to tell the difference)

Africans are sweet right out of the egg and 4 years of raising them, my gander has never shown any aggression other than toward an opossum that made the mistake of chewing his way into the yard and attacked a chicken, and to a waterer that offended him 🤣 hes always been sweet and non-aggressive to humans, hides his head in your neck or armpit when you hold him. They form bonds as goslings as deep as dogs do to their humans and get excited when they see you. Theyre truly a perfect breed!!! This little man has bonded to me and cries for me to hold him as soon as I see him. I was trying to move Miss Cruella out of the area to start teaching her babies independance and little man wasnt having it. He wanted mommy! So I picked him up too and he decided me and Cruella both needed preened lol

If you dont have geese but are considering them, I HIGHLY recommend African! I am done hatching for the season (I think haha) and not sure yet if Im letting any go but I will be taking a list for either eggs or goslings :)

If anyone is interested in these little ones, let me know! The taller one is an obvious boy. The black one (bad pic, it wont sit still lol) could go either way but Im leaning boy. They are 9 weeks old, almost 10. The loghter one is brahma/branbanter mix and the darker one is cemani/brabanter mix. Both healthy and doing great! Have been with the big flock their whole lives and running free with them since 4 weeks old 😀

Little gosling doing very well this morning! Had some trouble hatching so I had to step in but its recovering very nicely 🥰 its hard to see them bur we have at least 3 ducklings out and one serama egg pipped. Lots of activity here! ❤️

The call duck eggs are coming along beautifully!!! This is just 3 for a quick check. For those who wanted them, they will be hatching in roughly 9 days! I do like to keep them for 24 hours to ensure they are walking well, and eating and drinking. We may get more crested in this batch! Picture of a couple of my crested growouts :)

Mother Nature, can we PLEASE calm down with the menopause or whatever you have going on that you are constantly throwing tornadoes and severe storms and flooding around?? We beg of you! Our flocks and families and farms beg of you! Hunker down everyone, shes not done yet 😭

On a good note, we have new colors hatched for our serama flock!!!!! Thank you to Three Chicks Silkies for sharing each others bloodlines to grow more! Cant wait to see what these babies abd the next hatch hatch out in the future 🥰 Welcome our 3 newest tinies! Better pics to come. We had SUCH a good day at the Crafty Chicken Festival today and did much better than expected. We made some good connections I think and got to meet some very cool people. We were able to be booth buddies side by side with the wonderful Elizabeth Jane Brown and her beautiful family. Weather was amazing, we sold all 28 ducklings very quickly and most of our baked goods and jellies. Heath and I both had a blast! Ty, Lauren, and Dean came out to spend some time and support us. Feeling super blessed and happy....exhausted but happy. Can't wait for the next one! 🥰
