Another angle of the velvet mule deer just I just finished

Velvet Mule Deer finished up. Shot in November in the snow still in Velvet. Special trophy for sure. I really like the pose the hunter chose on this one.

Drop tine Texas buck finished up

Really cool whitetail dropped off from here in Johnston County, NC. 23 inches wide. Has broken main beam tips on both sides and a broken G3 from fighting. Orange main beams from rubbing trees. Dark Dark antlers. What an aggressive buck. It finally cost him when the hunter shot him fighting off several other bucks from his doe. A posted a reel of it earlier.

In Montana, Utah, Kansas, New Hampshire and Alaska, the use of wireless or cellular cameras is prohibited during the hunting season. I’ve been seeing a lot of posts saying I saw the deer on my cellular camera and grabbed my rifle and went down and shot him. Is it fair chase? These states say no. What do you think?

Good luck tomorrow. If you shoot a buck that you want to mount be sure to cape it properly. Please take the time to include some of the front legs. That way you can use any form you want. And just because somebody says thy know how to cape a deer they may not. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been told that story. And in this heat put them in a freezer right away or ice them down in a cooler and be sure to cover the ears. Good luck!

Had to show one of the coolest whitetail’s I received so far this season. Not because of what it scores but what the rack shows about this buck. 23 inches wide on the outside. The buck broke off the end of both main beams and the G 3 off the right antler fighting other bucks. He rubbed trees until his main beam is orange from the wood shavings and his antlers are dark dark brown. He was fighting off 5 other bucks from his doe when the hunter shot him with his bow. What a cool buck from here in Johnston County.
