With today being Memorial Day. I wanted to share a little bit about our barn name. Nelson Acres.
Nelson Dickey was my grandfather. He served in the United States Air Force.
Entering the service on September 17, 1965 he served in Vietnam with the 78th Supply Squadron. He was honorably discharged on September 16th, 1971. I did not know him past the age of four, but when I started our little stables at his farm in Jordanville it only seemed fitting to name the barn after the man that ran it for many years.
Thank you to everyone who has served for us and please remember while you barbecue and have all the fun in the world this long weekend, that it is for a reason❤️🤍💙🙏

Yesterday, an incident occurred at our stables where one of our boarders sustained injuries while bathing her horse. The horse was inadequately secured to our wash rack, causing it to spook and lift the top beam, which struck the owner in the head. An ambulance was summoned, and the owner was transported to the hospital. Fortunately, both the horse and owner are recovering, with the owner experiencing a mild concussion and neck abrasion. The horse did not sustain any injury from this event. We are sharing this incident to highlight the significance of barn safety and proper horse tying techniques. We will be conducting a mandatory barn safety meeting for all students and boarders on Friday, the 17th at 4:30 PM at our stables. All are welcome to attend and gain insight into proper tying methods and emergency protocols.

We are looking for someone who would like to do barn chores at our small facility in exchange for lessons/lease/overall riding time
REQUIREMENTS:
-At least 15 years old
-Reliable transportation
- Work ethic! I will pour my time and knowledge into your equine education, I expect a job well done in return!
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
We are a very laid back barn with a group of young women who jump, barrel race, and trail ride. Some of us show some do not. Message me if you are interested!

Teaching hours are Saturday 11am-3pm and Sunday 10am-7pm
Peewee lessons (ages 3-5) are $35
Lessons for ages 6 and up are $50

Client horse for on site lease in Clayville Ny
Honey is a 5 year old, 15.2hh ottb mare who does it all. She has been ridden by a youth rider with a strong leg but she is still green. Somewhat mareish but overall super sweet and willing to please her rider. 100% sound. More woah than go. She would be an awesome horse for a teen looking to show in hunters, ranch, barrels, or just trail ride.
Lease is $250/month for up to 3 rides a week and opportunity to show.

We are excited to introduce Rylee Lenning as Co-Instructor to our lesson program!

Rylee is a phenomenal rider who has studied the correct way to ride and train horses, as well as instruct new riders through the Mainecrest Equestrian Center’s training program. Starting out her riding career at White Fox, Rylee developed a love for the horse as well as a strong background in hunter/jumper disciplines.
