Sullivan's House and Pet Sitting Service

Sullivan's House and Pet Sitting Service I offer house sitting and dog/cat sitting services in the Kemah, Clear Lake Shores, and Seabrook areas. Now he's working full time, and I wish to continue.
(3)

I'm willing to go outside those areas if it's within a mile or so. My husband and I have been traveling via sailboat and are now situated in Clear Lake Shores, TX. We have completed several house and dog sitting jobs together. Most animals know I'm their friend within a short period of time. There was only one dog that didn't seem to like me, and he was a "trained to kill" Rotty at my neighbors ho

use. Scary! However, after I sat in their home visiting for awhile, he started coming over to me and allowing me to pet him. By the time I left, he and I buds! I love all sizes and shapes of dogs and cats, probably more than most humans I meet. I follow the rules of your home, and your dog's particular schedule for food, walks, treats vs. no treats, outdoor, indoor times, pills, and play times. As for the house-sitting, I will make sure your mail is collected, house plants watered, and generally keep the area clean and orderly for when you return. If anything should go wrong, I will call you immediately. It is my way to make the animals as comfortable as possible, while maintaining the integrity of your home. If you want me to simply drop by and let your animal outside to go to the bathroom, to be fed and given water, and to play with them, this is a 2 hour job for $20. I will also collect your mail if necessary. I have found that most animals prefer it if someone is there with them the entire time. Overnight care is $35/day. This includes the house-sitting care as well. There may be times when my hubby and I decide to take a sailing adventure for several months, which will be announced on this page ahead of time, so you'll be aware of my schedule. If you're interested, let me know ahead of time, so I can check for openings. Today is July 28, and I am now house-sitting and dog sitting for another 4-5 days. That frees me up for August.

Hi there! Want to let you all know that I have from now until September 24th available for caretaking.

07/25/2018

Recently, the marina we're docked in disconnected wifi, so we're without any internet services at the moment. We're furiously trying to find an alternative that is in our budget, but so far nothing. My deepest apologize for any inconvenience to anyone trying to contact us and not hearing back. We hope to remedy this soon, and thank you all for your patience.

07/09/2018

Hi folks,
I'm available now for house/pet sitting from July 9th, to the 26th. If anyone needs me, let me know!

05/16/2018

Hi everyone!

After much deliberation, I have decided to raise my rates. It was not an easy decision to make this change. What tipped the balance was knowing that most other sitters are charging $50 for the first animal a $10 for each additional animal. Plus, I originally wanted to stay close to where I live, but have branched out further than I had intended. Gas money adds up.

I will be starting new fees at the beginning of June. The new rates are as follows...

OVERNIGHT HOUSE AND DOG SITTING

$40 for the first two animals, and $10 per extra animal.

I am very serious about maintaining a healthy, comfortable and loving environment for the animals I care for, I also keep the home in the same, or better, condition it was in when I arrived. It is my intention to keep the surroundings familiar, by following the home/pet owner's schedules and instructions.

DAY VISITS AND WALKS

One dog: 30 minutes: $20 ($5.00 extra for each additional 15 min.)

Two dogs: 30 minutes: $27.50 (7.50 extra for each addtional 15 min.)

More than 2 dogs, will be discussed on a per dog basisI

I you have any questions or concerns, please contact me on this site, or, if you already have my phone number, please call.

Blue Healer, Smart, Playful, Active, Snuggly, most lovable boy!!

03/09/2018

I'm editing my original schedule to show that I'll be pet sitting from June 14th to the 17th instead of June 6th through 10th. Thus, all of June is open until the 14th. Thanks!

03/07/2018

Well, my arm is slowly healing, spring is (hopefully) around the corner and vacation time is coming for many folks. Our last sit was delightful. We took care of our buddy, Jax, while mom and dad were sailing the Caribbean for 2 weeks. Such a pleasure. We love that boy. His parents are pretty awesome, too!!!

I'm posting my current schedule so people can see what days I have available.

I am available until March 23, then again on April 2nd til April 25. My calendar is completely open for May. In June, I have a job from the 6th - 10th, and from the 29th to July 9th, but the rest of the days are open.

There are days available for those who need help. I prefer doing at least 2 night stays and longer. If you're in a pinch and need an overnight person, let me know though. I might be able to manage it.

I am having Surgery on Jan. 16th and will be out of commission until March.

The Morris Pups.My outdoor pics didn't download for some reason. They were all so sweet and snuggly. These are mostly snuggle pics.

01/10/2018

Last week we pet and house sat for the Morris family, a wonderful, loving family. Mom and Dad were charming people, with two adorable sons, and a beautiful daughter.

We enjoyed all 4 of their adorable pups; Amy, Baby, (the girls), and Skinny, and Floppy (the boys). Really sweet dogs and each one with their own particular behaviors. Amy was Alpha dog and loved to play hard! Baby was very shy, but cuddled and played when SHE wanted. Skinny was snuggly, but would growl if anyone came near. Floppy had the sweetest disposition of all of them and just wanted to snuggle and be sweet all the time.. We had so much fun with them, playing catch, chase the bunny, run around the house, and snuggle time while watching TV. Paul and I both just adored them all and hope to see them again!

Sending all of you Christmas greetings of love and good wishes. My hopes are that this Christmas will be a reminder of all the blessings this time of year represents.

Special thanks to all the people who hired me to take care of their beloved pets and their homes this year. It was such an honor and pleasure. May the New Year bring us all joy and contentment.

A Norwegian Elkhound, (with short legs) and a Papillon...which, of course, means Butterfly in French. I know why now...if you look at their ears from behind them, it looks just like a butterfly!!

Well, our stay at the Austin's is coming to a close on Thursday.. We have so enjoyed our stay with the two boys, Gizmo and Shasta. They are such a treat...very well behaved, loving, snuggly dogs. It will be difficult to leave them. I see how it might be a hard thing being a foster parent...after getting attached, it's difficult to let them go!

Our friends have had a very long, long journey, up to Canada, then to Nova Scotia (where I've always wanted to visit), and back through all the northern states. I'm sure they'll be happy to get home to their boys, and their cozy home.

We thank you, both, for giving us the opportunity to care for your home and your adorable dogs, Rick and Cheryl, and we'll see you very soon!

10/29/2017

Looks like November is almost full. From the 11th to the 30th is booked. We will be caring for Gizmo and Shasta, Cheryl and Rick's dogs. Looking forward to being with them!

10/02/2017

I have the entire month of October available for house, and/or pet sitting. If you're in need of a sitter, let me know. 225-290-9798.

We had a wonderful dinner and visit with two fun people last night! Cheryl and Rick Austin were kind enough to invite us to dinner so we could meet each other, and their two adorable dogs, Shasta, (a Norwegian Elkhound), and Gizmo, (a Papillon). Such sweet dogs! We have penciled in December 14th through 24th for house and pet-sitting. Looking forward to staying with these two boys

Thank you Cheryl and Rick for the tasty dinner and the lovely visit!!

Carol and Mike Irish's pet clan. Lacy and Trysh (the dogs), Sammie and Cali (the cats). Cali DID come out, but only for moments...and then slipped away again. Very sweet, but shy...and no pics of her. What a great bunch of girls...yes, all girls! Loved sitting with them!!

09/25/2017

My hubby and I house and pet sat in a beautiful home this past week. Carol and Mike have not only got a beautiful home, but four adorable pets, as well. Lacy and Trysh, two sweet dogs, and Cali and Sammy the loving cats. It was such a joy to care for them and the house. We took walks everyday, and played in the backyard, chasing the toys. Especially, Lacy...who was good at the "go fetch" game. Cali did come out of the master bedroom occassionally to greet us, and go eat. Sammy was all over us, and we loved it. She is such a loving cat!!

When Paul first sat down in the rocking chair, Tracy jumped up on him and licked him all over. He was laughing so hard...and it was good to hear, since he's been in pain from the operation on his foot for the past 7 weeks. She and Paul were thick as theives after that!

Trysh was shyer, but she'd let me hold her and rub her tummy quite a few tmes, once she got used to me. They both enjoyed going for their walks, immensely. I took them separately at first, but Paul said Trysh cried the entire time Lacy and I were gone. So I tried with both, and all went well. Carol and I were concerned it might be a bit chaotic to take both at the same time. However, it worked out great.

We have had problems with our internet since we arrived back home, so I haven't been able to post pics yet. Hoping today we have better connections!!! Pictures soon!!

09/25/2017

I am currently available for house/pet sitting services.

09/17/2017

I have a job from September 18th until the 23rd. Will be over in the Dickinson area again. Lovely people, (Carol) and pets, (two dogs and two cats) and very nice home. Excited to go. So far, all the homes I have been in are just beautiful and cozy. I've been very lucky!

I will be free from the 24th of September on...if anyone is needful of a house/pet sitter!

After Hurricane Harvey, the folks across the street, Don and Mary, asked if I would sit for them while they went away for a few days to a wedding. I was thrilled. Their two doxies, Portia and Molly, are very sweet dogs. Molly is the snuggler, and aka "The Licker"! Portia is a little more reserved. One night she came into the room...lights were off, and all I saw was her little white face...looked just like a ghost! I tagged her "Ghost Girl"...aka GG.

These two sweeties have to take meds, Molly gets pills, and Portia gets shots for Diabetes. It all went well...no problems with shots at all. Very easy, if you know how to do it. And I learned from Mary, a great teacher!!

I enjoyed snuggling with the girls on the couch, and they slept with me as well. A very relaxing and pleasurable sit for me.

A few days later, Mary asked if I could come by to feed them and give Portia her shots while she and her hubby took her brother out. When I arrived, the girls did a little happy dance for me. It was just so precious. I think we are now friends. :D

Portia...aka GG (for ghost girl...all I could see in the dark was the white of her face...looked just like a little ghost dog!)

We had an interesting house and pet sitting job during Hurricane Harvey. Our clients went for a lovely cruise to the caribbean for a week's voyage. However, that's week's voyage turned into an extended vacation. Whether it was relaxing or not is questionable, since the Port of Galveston was closed and they were basically, stuck on the ship.

During our time in their home, we encountered very high winds, lots of branches downed, and huge amounts of water flooding the area where we were staying. Water came close to the front door, but didn't quite make it inside their home...for which we were extremely grateful! Apparently, their street was a bit higher than the streets behind them, because on those streets, many people lost their homes. The streets are now lined with the insides of people's homes...all their treasured goods regurgitated onto sidewalks, now only so much garbage to be picked up by the local sanitation trucks. A very sad sight to see.

When Sable's mom and dad made it home, it was as though everyone let out a huge sigh!! It was a stressful time, but all was well in the end.
