Heights Home & Pet (HHP) agrees to provide services to the client and their pet. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof, the client expressly waives any and all claims against HHP, unless arising from gross negligence on the part of HHP. If the client has any concerns, they must notify HHP within 24 hours of returning home. Rates and payment are non-negotiable. Payments must be made in accordance with the payment policy outlined above. All dogs will be walked on a physical leash. No electronic, remote, or shock leashes of any kind will be accepted. It is the client’s responsibility to notify HHP if the dog cannot be walked on a leash because it is untrained, becomes unruly, or refuses to walk. The client must provide an appropriate leash and harness or collar. Collars and harnesses must be safe and secure for the client’s dog. Failure to disclose leash behaviors may result in termination of services. There are no exceptions to HHP’s leash policy. HHP is not responsible for aggressive pets or pets that bite. If the pet is aggressive, HHP will terminate the service. If the pet bites the sitter, another person, or another animal, HHP will terminate the service. The client will be responsible for making alternate arrangements for their pet. The client will also be responsible for all costs (including medical care and lost wages) associated with biting or other aggressive behaviors. HHP reserves the right to terminate services if the services differ from those discussed at the meet and greet, or if the client failed to disclose behavioral or other issues pertaining to the service. HHP is not responsible for pets that suffer an accidental death or escape from faulty fencing (including electric fencing due to empty collar batteries), or from inside the home due to faulty screens or doors, or from faulty harnesses or collars. HHP is not responsible for complications that pets may suffer or for any actions of pets while left unattended. HHP is not responsible for pets allowed outside while the sitter is not there. If the sitter is injured or becomes ill due to exposure to the client’s pet, the client will be responsible for all costs, including medical care and lost wages. HHP will not sit for acutely ill pets or those with uncontrolled medical conditions. The client is responsible for maintaining a safe home environment for the pet and sitter. This includes driveways, paths, or stairs to the home that are unobstructed and clear of snow and ice so that the sitter can safely access the home. Home interiors and facilities should be cleared of obstructions that may endanger the pet or sitter, or prevent the sitter from providing services in a timely manner. This includes stacked materials, biologic materials, and secondhand smoke. HHP will not provide services in homes where secondhand smoke is present. Failure to provide a safe environment for the pet and sitter will result in termination of services. HHP is authorized to handle any emergencies that may arise during the course of the service. In the event of an emergency, HHP will act in the pet or home’s best interest. HHP’s hourly availability during an emergency will be based on HHP’s schedule. Hourly services will be charged $30 / hour. The client will be responsible for all costs, including veterinary care and HHP’s hourly rate. In the unforeseen event of sitter illness or inclement weather, the client must arrange to have a responsible party assume care of their pet. HHP is not responsible for these arrangements.
