Willow's babies are emerging, and being that this is my first P. Johnsoni clutch, I'm shocked at how big these babies are. Compared to my regals and otiosis, these things look huge despite still being very small. Gorgeous babies though, so excited!

Captain spicy pants did not want to be bothered. For those that don't know, this is the pose mantis make when they are super pi**ed. At this point, it's highly recommended that you move your hand away. 👽😆

***UPDATE***She definitely laid eggs, and I'm pretty sure 2 or 3 have already hatched. She hid them incredibly well.

It might be wishful thinking, but Nova has constructed a super hammock and I suspect (I HOPE!) she laid. I'm not so patiently waiting for some otiosus babies.

The only time I'll take a jumper out of the wild and keep them is when they are noticeably struggling. This handsome guy was struggling to climb and kept falling back to it's original starting point. That's when I noticed he was missing one of his front legs. I brought him in and made sure he has a nice mist and meal, and then he settled in so nicely I just left him. I may release him, but he will be easy prey with his missing leg, and I really don't want to do that.

We lost mama Inca early this morning 💔😢 She's given me three clutches, one of which should be emerging from the nest any day now. I'm grateful to be able to care for her young and raise them, but I'll miss my sweet little girl.

I have an unbelievable amount of love for this girl. Clover has given me 4 clutches thus far, is the best mama, and such a sweet girl. She was mature and unknowingly gravid when I recieved her, and I suspect she is possibly around two years old at this point.

Photos don't do this baby justice. She's a beautiful gray with green chels. Born in mid January, Lucia's babies are starting to become adoption age. This one is not currently available, but may be very soon.

I've NEVER handled a tarantula...until today.

Even looking at them in the past has creeped me out. I've obviously gotten over my arachnophobia thanks to my sweet jumpers, and today my versicolor decided to come visit....I truly think it makes it so much easier while they are still so small. Still freaked me out a bit because it ran veryyyy quickly up my arm to my shoulder, but I'm kind of proud of myself, as silly as it may sound. They truly are gorgeous creatures.

GUESS WHAT??!!! I was finally able to secure a ghost mantis (p paradoxa) ootheca so with any luck it will successfully Hatch and I will finally be able to offer these amazing babies!

I've had Phoenix for 10 months, and have NEVER been able to do this. Phoenix is generally very fast and very scared, so for this to happen, I'm one happy lady. 😊

One of the mantis babies thst hatched in late February. This one is staying with me. My funny little aliens.

Lucia's clutch is finally starting to come out of the nest. In the meantime, I just collected all of clovers third clutch and she laid a FOURTH clutch last night.

Chinese mantis babies. LOTS of them. The carolina egg case has yet to Hatch, but I definitely have my hands full with these guys and all the spider slings. It was quite an adventure attempting to separate these guys into cups. Not 100% successful, I may have a few free range babies. 🤦‍♀️😅

I'm often asked how to handle spoods. Most of them are naturally curious and with some time and patience, they will come to you. Don't force them, don't scare them, let them do their thing. #spider #jumpingspider #canopyjumpingspider #phidippusotiosus
