I went to a reptile show this morning and picked up a new friend. I got it home and attempted to rehouse it, and dude wanted the grand tour. He got to venture all over my room before successfully finding his home. Ill admit, i'm still a bit scared of tarantulas, and it was my hardest to rehome thus far. Im sweating 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Somehow, Genesis collected all the little random bits of spagnum moss and managed to roll them into a ball shape and is now guarding it. Tarantulas are such strange little creatures.

I went to my local large chain pet store to check on their jumpers. They had two regals, both male. One was around i6, and one was mature....but to the unsuspecting buyer, they would never know. Of course they were in the most improper setups possible, and when I inquired on them, the associate couldn't tell me much of anything baside that they were "tropical" and that they would be more active in warmer temperatures. I hate big companies making profit from live creatures that deserve so much more.

Please continue to support your small time hobbyists and breeders. We are ethical and actually care about these babies.

Just a little over a year difference. I miss it being a tiny little blueberry, but the color change has been magical. 🥰😍 (carabena versicolor)

A few weeks ago I posted about an injured female tan jumper i found hanging from window. I was 100% incorrect in assuming she was a mature and gravid female. Im happy to report that she molted today and it appears she has regrown her bad legs!

Until you've raised several hundred spiders at the same time, you'll never know the time, effort, and money that goes into it. Its A LOT.

But when your adopters send you photos or videos of the joy they bring, and updates along the way, its makes everything worth it. I love these little creatures, and despite me not being the best at communication or returning messages, I dont think ill ever truly stop doing this. I enjoy it far too much.
