Before ya say anythinggggg

I’m not saying cuddling your dog is bad. But are you meeting your dogs basic needs first?

Cuddling up with your dog is nice!!! But without meeting your dogs needs and fulfilling them you will run into issues.

Snuggling is the cherry on top 🍒 not a replacement for biological needs.

Welcome Tootsie & Taffy!!

I'll be fostering these two until they can get a good home; so spread the word! 📣

Taffy, 3yr old boxer mix was rescued in Columbus while being attacked by a dog. She was set to be euthanized due to over capacity but luckily my bffs aunt asked if I'd take her. So they amputated her tail, bandage her wounds, and the aunt drove her to me for Thanksgiving 🙃.

They surprised us all when the rescue said they found her puppy and asked if I'd take her too. OBVIOUSLY I said yes, I love puppies! So now i have Tootsie who looks like she's got a bit of Shar Pei and about 5 months old.

Our guess were they were living on the streets but they've been amazing in the crate, potty trained, and great with dogs. The cat is another story tho 😳🙄

After a few months traveling Europe with Doof we are back and I’m excited to get back to training dogs!

We had such an experience traveling Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, and Montenegro. I doubt Doof realizes he's a world traveling pup 😂

Teaching your dog how to relax (i.e. a bedstay) is critical. Especially for dogs with anxiety or anxious behaviors, you are essentially training them to relax their minds.

We take yoga classes & practice meditations when we feel anxious. We practice shutting our minds off and calming our thoughts. These practices have been proven to reduce anxiety. The same concept is applied for our dogs and teaching them how to do the same!!

Alrighty guys let me introduce Gage who will be helping take care of your dogs with me!

Gage has years of experience working at large dog training facilities and dog daycares which gives him an amazing background with handling all dogs. He's very experienced with properly socializing dogs of all temperaments and has some understanding of dog training which is a great addition for all the dogs here!!

I am so excited to have a pair of extra hands and with all the experience Gage has 🙌🏻 this will allow us to give all the your dogs more exercise, socialization, and ensuring every dog feels fulfilled at the end of the day 🥳😌

Does 'leave it' really work?? 🫣 no not for things they shouldn't be eating

I hear dog owners say this on repeat way too much and it builds a pattern of 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 to be within eyesight of our dogs to catch them before they eat our socks, dog poo, trash, etc.

I don't wanna micromanage my dog and 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 need to be with them to stop them so instead I wanna teach them just to not eat those things

"No, you can't eat my socks"

"No, you can't eat my food"

"No, you can't eat goose poop"

etc etc etc

Cause once we teach them they CAN'T eat those things then we can relax and not follow our dogs everywhere to pull s**t outta their mouths 😮‍💨

Bed stays are so damn useful for a HUGE variety of reasons!!

Some of the common issues I work with where bed stays come in handy:

• overly excited dogs that jump all over guests
• reactive dogs that watch out the window and bark
• dogs that sneak off and eat or get into things
• anxious dogs that need clearer expectations
• dogs with separation anxiety that can't relax on their own

So many dogs struggle with one of the above, teach a bed stay and you'll be able to work through some of their bad habits!

Does everyone remember Marley that I posted a few weeks back!? Well here's her progress just a few sessions in! She's EXTREMELY reactive and a very amped pittie. Movement is a huge trigger for her; birds, squirrels, plastic bags blowing in the wind, DOGS, people. You name it, if it moves she goes off. Marley has improved immensely and her owner can relax his shoulder a bit; she still has some dog reactivity we are working through. Even then it has greatly diminished from what it was. First session with Mazzy and we've already set a great heel foundation with her. Her owners were tired of her yanking them everywhere and freakin out at other dogs. No more sore shoulders after today 🤗 She's also a very mouthy, jumpy, and reactive pit girl.
