A trip down memory lane tonight. Back before AQHA versatility ranch horse was a thing, Mesa County 4H had the Handy Ranch class. I was riding Sailer's dam Ellie at the time. These would have been taken in 2008 or 2009. The rider had to complete a pattern with obstacles, all while a herd of cattle sat at the end of the arena. The rider would then enter the herd, cut a numbered cow out, and drive it down and pen it. All this was done alone with no herd help!
