I wish we had more to share. Being one handed has put a damper on photos. Just know we are still here and still working hard at saving lives.
We could use some help with paying our huge hay bill. I know we are all suffering a horrible economy but even $10 will help keep the Sanctuary afloat as Jeff and I recover. Donate at www.wildheartssanctuary.org.

So... this happened. Surgery Wednesday. Life sure throws curveballs. Jeff had to have emergency surgery for a deep infection and now this. Struggling but still here!

31/07/2025

Surgery went well, Jeff should be home tomorrow. We face another 4 to 6 weeks of him having to take it easy and me packing his wounds to keep infection out. Thank you everyone for the well-wishes!

Hello my friends, family and volunteers,

Jeff is in emergency surgery as we speak with infection complications from his lung surgery June 25th. With that said, he will be out of commission for another 6 to 8 weeks.

Under these trying and exhausting circumstances, I've decided to suspend rescue operations/adoptions for the near future. All horses that are available right now are aged and/or lame pasture pets, and untrained project horses of all ages.

For those that have reached out lately with inquiries I will do my best to respond to you as soon as I can. Those that have already established contact and are trying to reach me, my cell phone has been dead since last weekend and I hope to have one back in place by tomorrow. Please reach out to me via FB messenger or via email [email protected].

We are NOT shutting down, we still have many mouths to feed and hay bills mounting until we can get back on our feet and resume the work we love. Any and all support would be greatly appreciated while Jeff and I navigate this setback.

Thank you all for your kindness, your dedication and your understanding,

Jane

Hello friends, this is Jane. We must apologize for not updating recently but we've had a whirlwind of personal issues.
Jeff had lung surgery almost a month ago. He is recovering well and after treatment should make a FULL recovery from lung cancer.
I have been busy downsizing the herd and keeping things running. Over the last week I have also been very sick but should be better in a few days.
With that said, anyone who had queried us or submitted pre adopts, I will try to get to you soon! Just know, we are down to aged, lame, or projects - unhandled to very green.
Here are some pics over the last month for your enjoyment!
We are down, but not out!

We've had the inevitable happen and our first dissatisfied adoptee, and our poor judgement for a home, is making threats to smear us. Its what happens when you choose because "pretty" and disregard the 100% transparent information given. The mare lasted 2 days with a demand to "come get her." As you know, our contract clearly states no refunds. Now we're being called a scam. You all know what to do when you see it! 🥰😘🥰😘
P.s. pic is our Donkey for your viewing pleasure. I won't out the adoptee unless she persists in attacking us.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our adoption event this past weekend! We’re deeply grateful for the amazing turnout and the genuine love and compassion you showed our horses. Because of your support, several of our horses found their loving forever homes, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Whether you adopted, volunteered, donated, or simply spent time with our herd, your presence made a lasting impact. Thank you for being part of our mission to give these incredible animals a second chance—you are truly appreciated!

The website www.wildheartssanctuary.org has been updated to show all 16 horses available for adoption. The two foals Ni'Hope and Stormy, and their mamas, Harmony and Pita, can be discussed as pairs to be adopted right now (1000 each pair) or individually at weaning, early August (details TBD). We are diligently working on summary descriptions of each horse listed, and some need updated pictures. Thank you for your patience while we complete this rather large project!

❗️ADOPTED❗️Congratulations Crystalyn!

Meet Astralia! Astralia is a 22-year-old Standardbred mare who, despite being a big girl, has a temperament as gentle as they come. She ties and stands quietly, and lifts her feet without resistance or hesitation.
We recently harnessed her for driving, and she performed remarkably, following through with all cues given. One of our junior volunteers also rode her, and they were a confident pair.
Astralia works well off the bit and maintains a steady demeanor under saddle. While she has not yet fully learned leg cues, she shows great potential and a willingness to learn. She starts and stops when asked, and is always attentive to her handler.
If you’d like to meet this lovely mare, please complete a pre-adoption application and schedule a visit during our Adoption Event this Saturday. Astralia is ready to meet her forever family—could that be you?
