We've had the inevitable happen and our first dissatisfied adoptee, and our poor judgement for a home, is making threats to smear us. Its what happens when you choose because "pretty" and disregard the 100% transparent information given. The mare lasted 2 days with a demand to "come get her." As you know, our contract clearly states no refunds. Now we're being called a scam. You all know what to do when you see it! 🥰😘🥰😘

The website www.wildheartssanctuary.org has been updated to show all 16 horses available for adoption. The two foals Ni'Hope and Stormy, and their mamas, Harmony and Pita, can be discussed as pairs to be adopted right now (1000 each pair) or individually at weaning, early August (details TBD). We are diligently working on summary descriptions of each horse listed, and some need updated pictures. Thank you for your patience while we complete this rather large project!

❗️ADOPTED❗️Congratulations Crystalyn!

Meet Astralia! Astralia is a 22-year-old Standardbred mare who, despite being a big girl, has a temperament as gentle as they come. She ties and stands quietly, and lifts her feet without resistance or hesitation.
We recently harnessed her for driving, and she performed remarkably, following through with all cues given. One of our junior volunteers also rode her, and they were a confident pair.
Astralia works well off the bit and maintains a steady demeanor under saddle. While she has not yet fully learned leg cues, she shows great potential and a willingness to learn. She starts and stops when asked, and is always attentive to her handler.

❗️Update on Saturdays adoption event:

OK folks, this is how our last minute, flying by the seat of our pants adoption event will work:
1. Horses will be updated on the website with their info/history TODAY
2. Fill out a pre adoption application on www.wildheartssanctuary.org and wait for an approval email (same day)
3. Book your 1 hr appt via that email
4. Bring a trailer ONLY if travelling to private home within Michigan and Coggins is not an issue.
5. Coggins are only pulled once horses are adopted. We can arrange delivery or pick up as soon as they arrive via email with no board charged. Horses,not picked up within a week of Coggins will be charged $15 a day board.
6. Adoption contract and payment is done through Shelterluv via a payment link and is super easy no matter your payment type.
7. Enjoy your new friend!

Public outreach is one of the most important things for the Sanctuary. Any volunteer help, cash or bottle return donation, item donation, big or small, is so greatly appreciated.

A Beautiful Day at the Rescue ☀️🐴

Today was absolutely gorgeous—blue skies, warm sunshine, and the peaceful sounds of happy horses enjoying their day. There's something magical about watching these incredible animals decompress and begin to trust again after all they've been through.

Each soft nicker, each gentle trot in the paddock, each moment of calm is a reminder of how far they’ve come. From fearful eyes to relaxed sighs, their recovery is a journey we are honored to witness.

It fills our hearts to see them not just surviving, but truly thriving. These are the moments that make all the hard work worth it. Thank you to everyone who supports the rescue—you’re helping give these horses a second chance at the life they deserve.

Assault is Never Okay — Especially When It’s Against Those Fighting for the Voiceless

In what world is assault acceptable? It is horrifying and unacceptable that Horse Plus Humane Society staff members have been attacked simply for standing up against the cruel practice of Big Lick and fighting for the welfare of Tennessee Walking Horses.

This isn’t just about rescue — it’s about rights. It’s about putting an end to systemic animal cruelty, and ensuring that those who expose it are protected, not persecuted.

Every state faces its own forms of animal abuse, and every rescue organization within the Full Circle of Life Horse Shelter Network is doing its part to fight back. But when cruelty is met not just with silence, but with violence, it demands the attention of the entire public, not just the horse world.

Big Lick is torture. Speaking out should not come with a price.

Please share this message widely — not just among animal lovers, but across every community. Justice must be served for those who risk their safety to speak up. And the abuse, intimidation, and cover-ups that enable Big Lick to continue must be brought to light and brought to an end.
