10 round bales arrived today. ❤️🌾
I had to sell some of my own belongings to pay for this load. I'm incredibly relieved the horses have hay, but I can't keep personally filling every financial gap. So we decided to do something a little different with this fundraiser—and introduce you to some of the adorable culprits responsible for our ever-disappearing hay supply. We hope they make you laugh. And if they do, perhaps you'll consider helping us buy the next load. ❤️

🐴 Dentist Day was a success! 🐴

Thanks to your incredible generosity, Fortune, Misty, and Rocky all received their much-needed dental care! Levi and Heather still require sedation and additional work, but today was a wonderful step forward for our herd. A huge thank you to Tiffany Wolf for her patience and skill!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who donated, shared, encouraged, and cheered these horses on. You truly made a difference.

Now...on to the next challenge. 🌾 Hay.

Like so many families, we're feeling the squeeze. Donations have slowed, and we completely understand—times are tough for everyone.

Unfortunately, the horses don't know that. Every morning they simply expect a full hay feeder, and it's our job to make sure it's there.

We're at the point where we need to bring in more round bales at $50 each, now to keep everyone fed and to begin preparing for the months ahead. We run through 10 bales every week! If you've been considering helping Two Wild Hearts Sanctuary, this is one of the most meaningful ways you can make an immediate impact.

Every donation—large or small—puts hay in front of a hungry horse. And if donating isn't possible right now, sharing this post is a tremendous help.

As always, thank you for believing in these horses and in our mission. We couldn't do this without you. ❤️

❤️ First and foremost... 🌧️ THANK YOU... and we're not giving up. ❤️

Because of your generosity, our senior horses have continued receiving the specialized feed they depend on. Every donation, every share, every kind word has reminded us that we are not fighting this battle alone.

We cannot thank you enough.

Just when we thought we could catch our breath, Mother Nature had other plans...

Over the past several weeks, your generosity has carried our old souls through one challenge after another. Because of you, no one has gone hungry.

Then Mother Nature decided to test us.

Torrential storms dumped nearly three inches of rain, flooding paddocks, turning feeding areas into lakes, and dropping trees across the property.

But storms don't cancel breakfast.

Or dinner.

Twice every day these seniors still receive the specialized diets they depend on—grain, hay pellets, soaked cubes, beet pulp mash, and medications. Some simply cannot eat regular hay anymore.

And on July 8th, our next group of horses finally receives the long-awaited dental care they desperately need.

💚 We are so incredibly grateful for every donation, every share, every encouraging comment. You have kept hope alive here.

Unfortunately, feeding doesn't end after one fundraiser.

Hay prices have climbed dramatically this year. Good grass square bales are now $9–10 each, and round bales have increased to $70–90 each.

Our goal now is simple:

🌾 Stockpile as much of last year's hay as we can before it's gone.

Every bale we can purchase now helps carry these horses through the months ahead while prices continue to rise.
These old horses have survived neglect, abandonment, age, illness... and now floods. They deserve to spend the rest of their lives with full bellies, dry bedding, and people who refuse to quit on them.

If you'd like to help, any amount makes a difference.
One bale. Five dollars. A share. A prayer.

It all matters.

From the bottoms of our muddy boots and grateful hearts...
Thank you for standing beside Two Wild Hearts Sanctuary. ❤️🐴

🌾 Help Us Fill the Hay Barn Before Fall 🌾

Some fundraisers are for dramatic emergencies. This one is for something much simpler—and just as important.

Every horse here wakes up expecting breakfast. They don't know about unpaid bills, rising feed costs, or the constant balancing act that comes with running a rescue. They simply trust that there will be hay waiting.

Right now, we're behind.

We still owe our hay supplier, our farrier, our veterinarian, and the last three urgent dental exams/floats are coming up on July 8th.

As we've focused on the horses with the most urgent medical needs, with some unexpected surprises, preparing for the months ahead has become increasingly difficult.

With fall and winter always closer than they seem, I'd love to start rebuilding our hay and grain supply before the first cold mornings arrive.

Every donated bale and bag of hay pellets means full bellies, healthier horses, and one less worry heading into the next season.

Whether your gift buys part of a bale, one bag of grain, or several, it truly matters. If you're unable to donate, sharing this post is another wonderful way to help our little sanctuary.

Thank you for standing beside these horses through every season. Because of you, they continue to have full hay nets, safe shelter, and the chance to simply be horses.

With gratitude,

Jane ❤️

Several weeks ago, with your help, we were able to scheduled dental care for four critical case horses. What we expected to be somewhat routine became something much bigger for one of those horses.

Young Calypso, who arrived here emaciated with her wormy weanling, has struggled to maintain weight and after a rough winter presented with all the signs of possible abscesses or worse. She has fought her way back with months of mash, soaked hay cubes, endless grass, and love.

During her dental exam, severe problems were discovered: large tongue ulcers, rotting compacted hay, and three cracked teeth. All of the funds raised and our time alotted with the vet went to Calypso's dental visit to make her more comfortable. Unfortunately the estimated cost to have an Equine Dentist/Surgeon come out and remove her cracked teeth is between $3,000-5,000.

The extent of her needs has forced me to face a heartbreaking reality. Sometimes loving them means recognizing when someone else can provide more than you can.

After many sleepless nights and tears, I made the difficult decision that Calypso's best chance may be with Horse Plus, where she can receive the advanced care she deserves.
Meanwhile, the remaining three horses needing dental work have been rescheduled for July 8. Their care still needs to happen, and these appointments are critical to their comfort, weight, and quality of life.

None of these decisions are easy. Rescue rarely is.

Thank you to everyone who has already donated, shared, encouraged, and stood beside Two Wild Hearts Sanctuary. You help make impossible choices a little less lonely.
