Thank you to all of the beautiful people who helped make the tack sale a HUGE success! Anne Nause , Beth Herman & George , Jamie, Camren, Bill, Carrie Applegate , Jeff and Audrey Wells ! You guys rock! The horses will be well fed for a few more weeks! Oh! Also, a big thanks to all those who donated their tack. You have made a big difference in these horses lives!

We sold over $1600 of new and used tack with EVERY dime going to the rescue horses. Thank you to all of the patrons for their support, you all kept us so busy we didnt have time for pics!

🐴We will be at The 2025 Washtenaw County 4-H Horse Association Tack Sale on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 10 AM–2 PM with new and used tack, tshirts, hats and calendars!
All proceeds go directly to our the care and rehabilitation of our rescued horses. The sale will be held at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds in Buildings C and D.

Update: We got home in the wee hours of the morning with more antibiotics. Lots of bloodwork and scans but nothing jumped out. So the assumption is he's still fighting infection. We are so grateful for the loving support and everyone who came out to help with chores this morning! 🫶❤️

So we have to be transparent. Jeff is sick and is now at the VA hospital being tested for an elevated resting heart beat of over 115 after 10 days of bacterial pneumonia treatment. I'm struggling on my own to make ends meet and make sure everyone is fed. If we haven't responded to your queries, it isn't because we don't care! We are doing everything we can, with the help of some super serious volunteers, but if we don't get back to you, this is why.

Yesterday we were honored to host students currently attending the MSU farrier school and their professor. They worked on some of our problem horses and showed off their skills! The biggest surprise was that all but one were young women! !

It's staggering how spectators, participants, and funders in the big lick industry can completely ignore the horrific abuse these Tennessee Walkers endure. How can anyone look at these horses—or the example in the video below—and think, “That horse is healthy and sound”? How is it possible for a 3-year-old, a mere baby, to end up in such conditions? It's absolutely sickening and cruel.

❤️🌹Sponsorship Saturdays Program🌹❤️

We’re excited to launch Sponsorship Saturdays, a special program held on the third Saturday of every month! When you sign up for a minimum monthly donation of $50, you’ll get exclusive access to come out on any third Saturday throughout the year, between 11 AM - 3 PM, and meet your sponsored horse, along with other horses in the program.
To kick off this program, we're launching a Valentine’s Day Special! Our goal is to fully sponsor two horses by February 14th, and we’d love your help. Each horse costs roughly $400 a month for veterinary care, food, shelter, and farrier services, which means we need 8 people to donate a minimum of $50 a month. In return, you’ll receive a special Valentine’s Day card featuring your horse and their story. Along with the card, you’ll have the chance to meet your horse in person through the Sponsorship Saturdays program!
After signing up for your recurring monthly donation, you must fill out the form below so we know which horse you would like to sponsor, and what days you would like to come!
You’ll have the chance to interact with the horses, brush them, give them treats, and show them plenty of love. It’s a fun, hands-on way to connect with the horses you’re helping support!
