Uhm. Yogi Bear didn’t get the memo that the trap is on the ground. Cross fingers we are able to catch this smol friend soon to reunite with its siblings and momma. Momma already got spayed today, and she and the siblings have tested NEGATIVE for FIV/FeLuk! We are super thankful to our fosters who have stepped up to assist us. Peanut and Butter are living it up at their foster home! They really want to play with the guineas—but the same cannot be said for the guineas.
Their neuter dates are approaching!

We thank you for your continued support ❤️
Sweet baby Sheldon was found in a driveway with his sibling, umbilical cord still attached. His sibling had some sort of abdominal trauma and passed very quickly. Shelly is holding on with a big attitude and even louder voice. He has an upper respiratory infection and had conjunctivitis of the eyes. His eyes now open, they have drained and are doing really well. We are still very concerned about his URI, although he has received injectable antibiotics from TRAH. He will be seen again tomorrow for oral antibiotics.

Why?
Why am I in a ditch? Why is my skin in this condition? Why is my belly swollen? Why are my spine and hips protruding? Why are my nails so overgrown that when standing normally my toes are uncomfy? Why is there a big collar mark on my neck? Why do I have lesions all over my body? Why do I have pressure sores? Why am I hungry?
Why? What did I do that was so bad? Why did it take a strange lady sweet talking me to make me crawl out of the ditch you threw me in? How long have I been out here? Why did you get me if you weren’t going to love me?
Signed,
🐾

A little spotlight for Ares
Maximus Crime would like you all to know that should you choose to adopt him, he will protect you from any and all yard birds with no exception.
I’m other words, if you have chickens you’ll need to ensure they are not free-roam. Past that Max is fantastic with dogs of all sizes and is quite playful even in his old age. Max is from the backyard breeder that we assisted a few weeks ago. He is very sweet but not fully house trained. He is using a belly band in his foster home and doing wonderful with that!
Check out Mavericks story!
Special shout out to Kevin at Liberation K-9 Training for working with Mav and giving us his expert opinion.
We’re dropping exes names here at RLAR this Valentine’s Day! 🩷Thank you to everyone participating! 🫶
We have decided to run this fundraiser thru the weekend to give everyone a chance to get back at their ex. We have some very special guests that will be ready to perform very important “dooooties” to this litter box this weekend!
Like Miley Cyrus says, remember you can buy yourself flowers and hold your own hand! Go say those things your ex doesn’t understand!
We love you all! Happy V day! 💕

MAVERICK UPDATE:
@followers
His health check came back *perfect*
We are scheduling him in with a behavioralist for next week as we had scheduling conflicts this week.
His foster says, “Mav is your typical border collie energy matched with gummy bear sweetness. He pays absolutely no attention to his kitty foster brothers and sisters and has a grand time playing with other dogs his size! He is kennel and house trained and knows his basic commands. He’s a sucker for a snack and I find myself sneaking him bits of cheese. Someone is going to love this boy the way he was always supposed to be loved.”
*we do not own rights to this music*

Harlow
Harlow says:
“This is my elaphante,
His name is Dante
My name is Harlow,
Why haven’t I been adopted bro?!”
Harlow has made his way back up to Clinton for our adoption event at the Tractor Supply in Clinton tomorrow. Come meet him between 10-1! 💙
Good morning from Harlow!
He is settling into his new routine for healing and has mastered climbing the stairs, pooping without falling over, and peeing (albeit to the side!)
He is quite a happy young man and has barely slowed down at all. His pain is being managed well with Tramadol and is now sleeping through the night.
We are so proud of this boy and are hopeful that his new family sees his progress and falls in love with his demeanor—especially through major surgery recovery.
If you or someone you may know is interested in Harlow please have them message us and apply via the link in our automated reply.
Harlow told us to mention that he would love some extra treats if you could send some via the AmazonWishlist!

Send us some words of encouragement we can share with Harlow!
It was cold and raining with the wipers on high that night when tiny eyes reflected off of the edge of the pavement. They knew it was a dog, but not much beyond that. They had to be at a wedding in an hour, but they jumped out of the truck and wrapped her in a jacket before putting her into the back seat sopping wet.
Only minutes away from a friends house, they called and pleaded for temporary assistance so they could still make the wedding. Thankfully the Suggs knew just who to call, and offered to fully sponsor her medical bills as well as foster her until she found the perfect home. After waiting for the mandatory hold period and no one coming forward to claim her, we welcomed Bonnie into our rescue and got her in to be seen yesterday at the Veterinary Medical Clinic in Clinton, NC.
Bonnie is in pretty rough shape with scabs and wounds all over her body, a cyst on the top of her head, and severely underweight. She is fearful of humans, but will softly lick your fingers once she realizes you won’t harm her.
Imagine our surprise when her heartworm test came back NEG! Very rarely do abandoned hunting dogs in the south come back negative for heartworms. We ensured she would remain heartworm free by giving her a 6 month ProHeart injection.
She is now up to date on vaccines, her skin scraping came back negative for mange, and the cyst is benign. She was given a long term injection of antibiotics to help heal the scabs all over her face, ears, hips, hocks, and ankles. Long term urticaria or more commonly referred to as protein sores, is relatively common in Fox Hounds and will go away with the correct antibiotics and food.
Bonnie is surprisingly really good with cats and is crate trained. She is an inside/outside dog and once she gets to know you is incredibly sweet.
She has a few weeks before her spay, but we are accepting applications right now! Please help us share this sweet lady and find her forever home ❤️🐾
