I have two breeds Brittanys and Australian Shepherds, the Brittanys since 1971 and the Aussies since 1982. I have shown and finished well over 50 dogs of 15 different breeds in AKC, CKC & ASCA. I have also titled dogs in the obedience and working arenas. I am an ASCA approved judge for conformation and obedience. I majored and received a diploma in animal husbandry at a vocational technical school and I earned a diploma in animal science from the North American School of Animal Sciences. I have held memberships in BCKC (All Breed Kennel Club), ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America), USASA (United States Australian Shepherd Association), ABC (American Brittany Club), and OBC (Oregon Brittany Club) and strictly adhere to the "Breeder's Code of Ethics" set out by these organizations I have produced dogs that have earned titles in Conformation, Obedience, Working, Hunting and Agility. Several have earned titles in multiple categories. I have dogs that are working Service Dogs and several that have become Certified Therapy Dogs. I have a permanently registered kennel name with ASCA & have ASCA Hall Of Fame Kennel #74 And Hall Of Fame Excellent Kennel #23. I have been a rescue representative for the Brittanys & Australian Shepherds and have done private ALL Breed Dog & Cat Rescue as well as working extensively with my local animal shelter. When I breed a litter, I always do it with the intention of being able to produce “HEALTHY, WELL ADJUSTED Versatility Champions", not just "show dogs", "working/hunting dogs" or “good companions” but, dogs that can perform & do well in ALL areas of competition as well as being excellent personal companions when not in competition that are healthy & happy. I am EXTREMELY CRITICAL of my own dogs. I don't believe it is fair to a breed for a breeder to be "kennel blind" - not be able to see the faults (be they structural or personality faults) in their own dogs. I refuse to do "fad breedings" (breeding to the popular dog on the block). I plan my breedings based on improving upon the faults of both parents and enhancing the good qualities in them. I am always looking for dogs that can help me improve on what I have. This makes me look at other's dogs with an extremely critical eye as well. My ultimate goal is to be able to produce the "perfect dog". I do know if I believe I have the "perfect dog", that’s still just my opinion. I stand behind my dogs 150%. I believe I am responsible for a pup for the duration of its life. I was the one who chose to bring it into the world and I will be there for that pup and it's owner until the end, just as if it were one of my children. My puppies/dogs are my 4-legged children. I want every pup I produce to have the best chance possible at a long, healthy, productive life. I will only breed dogs that have sound, stable temperaments and exhibit proper breed personality and characteristics. All of my breeding stock are tested clear from hereditary hip & elbow dysplasia and hereditary eye defects prior to entering my breeding program. In recent years I have added heart, patella & thyroid testing. In placing/selling our pups, I look for the right home for the right puppy. I would rather place a show puppy in a pet home than let it go to a show home where it may not be as well suited to the living conditions. I do puppy personality & temperament testing on all of my pups to determine what their personality will be like. I let my puppies go to their new homes at 8 weeks. At the time of sale all of the pups are current on shots & worming, and have had a veterinary physical and veterinary ophthalmologist eye exam. My pups are born in my bedroom and are raised in the house with the family to insure proper socialization. By the time the puppies are ready to go to their new homes; they have been started on house and crate training and have started to learn some basic manners. I believe in producing Quality not Quantity!!!
