Our sweet Land Before Time babies are 10 weeks old tomorrow and doing incredibly well with their families. Nothing beats popping on my phone to seeing pictures and videos of the babies killing it on their training, playing hard and being smothered with love especially when they are welcomed into a family as a therapy or service dog and immediately and naturally create a special bond with the special child they are meant for. 🥰

Holy cow! Dexter Morgan is now officially pending transport to his new home and going back to his roots in Dallas, TX!!! Thankfully, he will still be with us for a couple more weeks so I can steal more kisses and snuggles from this sweet boy before he leaves us for good. I sure am going to miss the crap out of him! 🥹

Today is the 1st of our bittersweet week as we said our goodbyes/see ya laters to our sweet baby girl Millie, formerly known as "Duckie," from Evee & Hurley's Land Before Time Litter. She is warmly welcomed by the Rydelek family and will be living a very cozy life down in Land O Lakes, FL. 🤗 The rest of the gang will be meeting their families on Saturday at our Puppy Pick-up Pawty. 🥳

Having puppies and breeding isn't always fun and snuggles!

Huge THANK YOU to Dr. Riley, Bonnie, the techs and everyone at Parkway Animal Hospital of Port St. John, LLC for squeezing us in yesterday when our sweet baby girl, Summer, had an anaphylactic reaction to a sting/bite! This was a not so fun first for us and could have ended devastatingly.

For those who don't know, Summer got bit or stung by something (we think a paper wasp) Tuesday evening. When I went to feed the babies, I saw the swelling and gave her a 1/2 Benadryl tablet and kept an eye on her. About 30 min later, the swelling went down but it still seemed a bit irritated, understandably so. She was eating, drinking, playing just the same. The next morning, yesterday, she woke up and the swelling stayed down but she was lethargic, didn't want to eat breakfast, didn't want to go out to play or go back in from the play yard at any point we tried while we waited for a call back from our very busy vet. She was still drinking and even attempted to nurse on Evee for a moment. We finally got her in and they ran fecals, bloodwork, an EKG, checked her BP, the works! They ended up needing to keep her overnight and gave her an I.V. with fluids and dosed her up with meds. I love our vet and trust them completely but I was still very worried last night and could think of nothing but Summer and how that could potentially be the last time we saw her. I then received a text message from Dr. Riley letting me know she was doing a little better and finally ate some food and woke up this morning to the best text message saying she was doing great and I could come get her. As soon as Summer saw us, her little tail went wild! I'm so grateful for everyone at Parkway and can not thank them enough!!

❗️📣We have also had tons of inquiries on our beautiful boy, Dexter. While he would be an amazing family pet, we'd love and prefer him to work in SAR as he has already been started in human remains detection(HRD) and is doing great in it. It would be disappointing for all of that work to be for nothing.

I think he might miss them a little when they leave us. 😆

2 weeks out! Evee & Hurley babies in t minus 2 weeks!!! 🤗

Warning, this is a long(2 min) video.. But I am so incredibly proud of the progress Dexter has made on his training in HRD!!! Oh and this absolutely tortures Pip because all she wants to do is search. Lol He gets the same way when she is doing it too so it just helps build their drive.

1 of the babies out of Zora's Final Fling litter, Decoy, has a few new strange looking pups that joined their family. Who would've thought a donkey and a pup could be buddies? 😆 I don't think I could love this video any more!...ok, maybe if they were snuggling...

Well, it maybe Christmas, but that didn't stop the pups from wanting to work! Today, at almost 4 months old, Dexter was introduced to human remains and had a successful imprint. He did amazing even when I gave him a couple that were a bit too difficult (🤦‍♀️ I forgot he's not Pippi). Who, btw was super jelly the entire time he was running the course. So afterwards, Pip ran through it as well and smashed it out of the park in typical Pippi fashion. 🥳 I can't wait to work with Dexter tomorrow to see how much better he does when I hide them all at appropriate heights.

Dexter is doing excellent with his training! This week I will finally imprint HR on him now that he is alerting without trying to mess with the source. I can't wait to see how he takes to it. Here is how he is doing with basic obedience...
