We are SO excited to announce that this sweet boy left the shelter today and is home with his new foster family. Thank you to Heather Viviano for alerting us to this handsome boy. Also a shoutout to Missy and TJ at Hernando County Animal Services for helping make this possible. They have so many dogs in need right now! The biggest thank you goes to you all! Thank you for pledging and sharing his post. It reached a ton of people.

We learned that Harley has an injury to his leg from potentially getting hit by a car. He will see a vet this week to receive routine diagnostics. We will know more about the state of his leg then. We will do whatever it takes to get Harley healthy and ready to be adopted! Please continue to follow our page for updates.

911-URGENT CASE
FOSTER HOME & PLEDGES NEEDED!
PLEASE READ!

Harley was brought to the county shelter by his owner. The owner demanded that the county euthanize his dog immediately for continuing to get “loose” and finally having an altercation with a neighbor’s male dog. We aren’t certain who started the argument. No dog was reported with injuries. The owner appears fed up with “dealing” with his dog and is demanding for the county to immediately euthanize him. The county has Harley in their custody. He in a holding area. They are in a tricky spot. The county has decided that the only way to get around this issue is by handing the dog over to one of their rescue partners. The county director has reached out to our rescue for help. WE CAN ONLY SAVE HARLEY WITH A FOSTER HOME AND PLEDGES! Our rescue is foster based. We don’t have a facility that temporarily houses dogs. A home is necessary, or we won’t be able to help him. Our rescue relies 100% on community funding. Harley will need incoming diagnostic medical care, ongoing monthly prevention, ongoing quality supplies, and potential training (since he is young). TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

Our rescue provides ALL ongoing supplies and expenses to take the burden off the foster. All we need you to do is provide the roof, love, and care. WE ARE SEEKING A HOME WITHOUT OTHER PETS UNTIL WE CAN GET HARLEY TEMPERMENT TESTED WITH OTHER ANIMALS. HE IS GREAT WITH CHILDREN (he lived with three).

PLEDGES:
A pledge is a financial promise. You can pledge to save Harley’s life by commenting on this post with your promised amount. We NEVER collect pledges unless we can save the dog being pledged for. Any funding collected will be placed in an account for Harley and used for ongoing medical care, supplies, training, etc. We must be prepared. There are other dogs in our rescue who cannot sacrifice their current funding for another dog. We are a 501©3 nonprofit and cannot function without help from the community. We will update everyone soon about Harley.

This popped up this am, and I know a lot of you use CAH, so just a heads up from Dr. Chosa.

Good morning CAH family,

It was brought to our attention overnight that our hospital has been mentioned by name in two circulating TikTok videos, falsely claiming that we are responsible for the death of a pet.
This is a tragic loss but we want our clients to know that we were not responsible. The dog was never a patient at our hospital, nor was the grieving poster our client.
Specifically, the video claims that a student was allowed to perform surgery on a pet without authorization. We do not have any students in our hospital at this time and when we have hosted them in the past, they are present for observation only.
We can only assume that the dog’s owner named us by accident in the midst of her grief. We know how our own hearts are broken when tragedy strikes our own pets, so can understand how such a mistake could happen. But we want you to know unequivocally that our team was not responsible.

Met a new client today. He's a gorgeous 13 week old Neapolitan Mastiff whose lineage comes straight from Italy. His name is Zuko, his paws are like boxing gloves,and he's pushing 50 lbs already! He's very sweet, but we are going to be visiting monthly for awhile, as his parents travel occasionally, and he will grow to be very protective of his home as he gets older. Expected to top out at about 170 lbs, we need to be very good friends! 😬

Had the chance to meet these lovelies on a road trip we took yesterday to Ocala. They are called Gypsy Vanner horses, and were bred specifically by English gypsies for pulling the caravans from place to place. The area was gorgeous, and the tour and history lesson on these guys was fascinating. Highly recommend a trip to Gypsy Gold Horse Farm if you ever get up that way. 💜

Wouldn't this be wonderful? I don't mind the public displays so much, but the grenades going off in the streets in front of my own house and my client's houses at all hours of the night, and for days after the 4th, is a bit annoying to say the least. It also petrifies the animals. 🙀

We received a large shipment of dog and cat food thanks to the generosity of many local individuals. If you need dog or cat food, please send a private message to our page with the following information. Let us know the number of dog(s) or cat(s) you have and if you are able to pick up the food or need it delivered (along with your address and phone number). We will offer delivery this Saturday in the Titusville, Mims, and Port Saint John areas.

If you can pick up the food at our shelter, please let us know and we will give you a day and time to stop by. Food will be left in the front of our building with your family’s name on the bag(s) to avoid person-to-person contact.
