This picture is a helpful guide for all long haired pets, not just doodles! Many people will tell you that you have to brush your dog every single day to keep them mat free, and while in an ideal world groomers would love every client to give every pet that kind of attention, that’s not always possible. People have kids, jobs, and a whole lot of other responsibilities they have to attend to every day. In reality your pet is not going to mat in a single day, or even in a couple days. They will develop tangles, and those tangles will eventually turn into mats if not brushed out, but that takes time. If you can brush and comb the “red zones” every few days and the “yellow and green zones” at least once a week then your pet is likely never going to develop a mat you can’t brush out within a few minutes. Make sure the brush and comb you are using is the right kind for your pet’s hair type and follow this guide and you likely will never have to fully shave your pet again. This sweet boy came in today to get cleaned up after a long stay with his friends at the boarding kennel before he headed home! He obviously had a ton of fun playing outside but after all that rolling in the dirt he needed a good bath and fresh haircut to get him feeling great! ❤️

They have a cat that she loves and is very friendly with but they believe she would do better in a home with no young children due to her high energy and not knowing how big she is.
