Animal Care/Kennel Attendant
Job Summary:
Compassionate care is the top priority for all pets, patients & clients.
Assist DVM and other hospital staff by providing direct care and maintenance of kennel,
hospital and surroundings, feeding and general husbandry of hospitalized or boarding pets.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must treat animals with care, respect and work well with them.
Must enjoy keeping pets and kennels clean and disinfected.
Dependable attendance is essential & required.
Weekends, evenings and Holidays are required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be willing to work long or irregular hours in ever changing high stress conditions.
This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly.
Duties:
The following is a partial list of essential job responsibilities.
Stock supplies/ feed as needed.
Keep kennels clean, sanitized, orderly and free of odors.
Feed / water / administer medication to animals, as needed
Continually exercise (walk) patients and/or boarded animals.
Ensure the comfort and cleanliness of hospitalized or boarded pets.
Bathe or clean pets immediately that become soiled with urine, blood or f***s.
Housekeeping of all hospital and boarding area .
Manage laundry for the facility – wash, dry, fold & stock.
Keep the exterior of the hospital clean and orderly and free of f***s.
Manage & execute janitorial care of the hospital & boarding facility
Advise veterinary staff of any unsafe of irregular conditions.
Make certain entire hospital including treatment, surgery, kennels and runs are kept
clean and disinfected throughout the day .i.e.- mopping, vacuuming, dusting & waste management.

Salary: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
