We’re a week late on pictures, but proud of our girl Millie who earned her UKC seasoned title last weekend in Cheraw, SC at the Carolina Boykin Spaniel Retriever Clubs spring hunt test. Thanks to all the Hudson River Retrievers gang for training and handling Millie for me, and thanks to the judges and club members who worked hard to put on a test.

HRCH Finn MHR x HR Kate litter on the ground and growing like weeds. It was a rather rough delivery, and we can’t thank our vet, Dr. Capps enough for spending the middle of the night operating on Kate, and saving these pups. Mom and 6 puppies are doing great!

To say that I am proud is an understatement. Both SCK pups that competed at the BSS Nationals this weekend have earned ribbons. Fighting through four different series over two days, and competing against 33 other dogs from all over the country “Easy” owned by Josh Pope earned a “Judges Award of Merit”, and “Abel” owned by Jeffrey McWhorter pulled out a 2nd place. These two have a bright future and I can’t wait to see how far they go!

Today is the start of the Boykin Spaniel National Field Trial in Camden, SC. While we hate that we had to cancel our trip, but we are proud to have two of our own running this year. Wishing Josh Pope and his dog Easy, as well as Jeffrey McWharter and his dog Abel the best of luck. Both dogs are very talented young pups, and make us proud. Go get those ribbons guys!

HRCH Brandywine’s Southern Finn MHR x HR CC’s Just Kate NR

HR Kate is out of “HRCH KJ’s Just Buck MHR” the breed’s top producing sire of titled offspring. This is her second litter and we are very pleased with how her last litter is progressing so far in training. She is a taller more leggier female with excellent marking ability, and huge amounts of drive. She is one of the faster Boykins out there, and always gets off the truck ready to work. Kate also has an amazing off switch, and can go effortlessly from a hard charging retreiver in the field to an affectionate couch potato in the home. She is hunted regularly throughout the Southwest Georgia dove and duck seasons. After this litter we will start back preparing to earn her finished title.

HRCH Finn MHR is out of “HRCH BrandyWines Summer Shandy-Leine MHR” and grandson of “GRHRCH UH Chief MH MHR OCH 10, 14” who was at one time the highest HRC point dog living.
Finn earned his HRCH title at 18 months, has two BSS National Placements, and is a dog with extraordinarily high drive, easily trainable, and also a pleasure in the home. This breeding should produce high drive puppies who will excel working in the field, as well as incredibly pleasant, and friendly companions.

Pups will go home at 8 weeks of age. The litter will come with BSS, AKC, and UKC registration. They will be dewormed with all vaccinations up to date. DNA testing will be preformed, and pups will have an LP registration until the dogs reach two years of age, and has all of the BSS recommended health testing performed.

HRCH C**t x HR Kate

HR Kate is out of “HRCH KJ’s Just Buck MHR” the breed’s top producing sire of titled offspring, and has been in training in preparation for her finished title. HRCH C**t is out of “HRCH UH JustaMiniCoopertotheMax ICH15”. Max was the BSS 2015 National Intermediate Champion, and also is one of a very small number of Boykins that has passed all four retriever series in an HRC Grand. C**t is a leggier framed Boykin with a big motor who loves to work. He is a CEA carrier, and has excellent hips. C**t was runner up in both Puppy and Novice divisions in his first year of running CBSRC field trials. The following year he won CBSRC Intermediate Dog of the Year before earning his HRCH title at 27 months of age.

Pups will be BSS, AKC, and UKC registered. They will come with genetic testing results from Paw Print Genetics, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, tails docked, and dew claws removed. The litter’s pedigree is loaded with titled dogs all the way up to GRHRCH as well as over 20 BSS National Championships represented in the first five generations. They should make some extraordinary hunting or hunt test Boykins with huge potential, or an amazing friend for a companion pet.
