Today was the first official day of summer and every one of our dogs got out to enjoy it with lots of water, toys, and treats! We are busting our tails to get some of these dogs moved this week! 🐕 With all of the dog shuffling we are doing, we realized we are very low on medium and large wire crates!

We use these often for adoption events, fosters, adopters, and occasionally when we are in a pinch with space to keep our special needs doggos separate from our main kennels. (Disclaimer: we don’t use them for kids, ever!)

We would be grateful for any donations of new or used crates in decent condition! Here’s a few ways you can get them to us:

*Update - vet says this pup appears to have been hit by a car and reccomended we help him cross the rainbow bridge peacefully due to his injuries. Big shout out to Cpl. Kelley for getting him to the vet today despite how busy today was 💔

New intake! It seems we can’t catch a break this week…. 🚨This dog was just found in a culvert in Montgomery and is unable to walk.🚨

He’s been neutered and has a flea collar on but no microchip - we are hoping he has an owner out there somewhere that has been missing him and sees this! This guy is pitiful - please contact us if you recognize this dog!!!

🚨Update: Still no applications for any of our perfect and highly adoptable dogs! We even have small dogs sitting in kennels!🚨

We need 6 kennels emptied by Thursday morning to have room for new intakes so we are begging for our community and surrounding areas to step up and help.

It really comes down to simple math and when more dogs are coming in than leaving, we have to make extremely difficult decisions to take dogs to Alexandria. NONE of our staff, volunteers, or incarcerated kennel help want this to happen but please understand that we cannot avoid this without dogs leaving. We have received ZERO applications and appointments for adoption and/or fostering. Our kennels are beyond FULL with over 40 dogs waiting on a home. Please help us out even if just temporarily so we don’t have to make difficult decisions for space on Thursday. We have to have open kennels for new stray intakes and cannot continue to house this many dogs long term. (The cutie picture below is Morgan - and she is available!)

Saber is a young guy that is freshly vetted and ready for a home! This dog has it all - good looks, charm, a fun personality, athleticism, and is just old enough to be out of that “puppy” stage which makes him a great training candidate with how smart he is already! Saber has only been with us under a month but his longer term pals are at risk due to space, so adopting or fostering him will buy his friends more time!

‼️URGENT‼️ Foster needed for Pinky!!

Pinky was adopted from us over a year ago and she has quite obviously fallen on ruff times. We desperately need to find a temporary foster to be able to get her the help she needs. Medical care will be provided but we don’t have anywhere to put her! Meet Giselle! She is a boxer - bull mastiff mix that has been in a foster home for several weeks but is being returned today. Her foster has discovered this lady is already house broken which is something a lot of our adopters are always looking for! We don't know if she is crate trained yet or not because this mature lady stays out free-roaming during the day in her current home without any accidents! She gets along great with chickens/ quails - loves to hang out outside, and she sleeps in bed with humans peacefully every night! She is very friendly and laid back so she would be a wonderful addition for any home! If you’d like to meet her, please submit an application to foster or adopt today!

BREAKING NEWS! 🎉 Gage is back on the market! This stunning Aussie guy is already neutered, up to date on vaccines, and already microchipped! We received quite a few applications when he first came in but he went straight to a home before anyone else had a chance…..After a few weeks in a home we have found that he’s true to his instinct and loves to herd and chase farm animals, so keep that in mind when applying for this awesome guy!
