Finish my first day yesterday in Tampico, IL for a stay and study with @barb_gerbitz We made it through the 95 degree weather smoothly but sweaty, and it’s been so nice to work horses other than my own who have had a wonderful start. Drago and Quiebro settled right in and Drago and I are working on bettering ourselves with our (my!) equitation, and Mamma Love and QuiQui are riding all over just enjoying themselves. Looking forward to today!
Thank you to everyone who came out Saturday morning and braved the cold brisk weather!! I had a full clinic at 8 participants and it was a great working environment. A lot of discussion, questions and obstacles!
I am out of town until Tuesday afternoon for a family weekend up north in Michigan. I will get to all texts, calls and emails when I return. I hope everyone can take time for themselves this holiday weekend, whatever that looks like for them. We are need that time for ourselves, I know I do. Cheers everyone.

Soaking up these Tennessee spring evenings before the summer weather hits.
It’s easy to get stuck on the technical parts of Horsemanship - Where to put your inside leg. How to move your hands properly. Check your posting diagonal. But what about this right here 👆🏻 going from a walk to a trot on a loose rein with my horse willingly moving forward.... don’t forget about that.
One of the best sounds for my ears
Watching this little mare unfold has been so fun to watch. Believe it or not a few months ago this mustang would buck when you put any sort of leg pressure on her sides. She was very shut down from being flank roped until she was just worn out. So seeing her track onto this block was so cool to watch her come more and more to life! And of course Drago loves the opportunity to pull anything so he had fun too 🥰 #horsemanship #horsemanshiptraining #horsesofinstagram #horserescue #horserescues #horserestarting #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #mustangs #mustangsofinstagram #mustangstart #westernriding #nashvilleequestrians #nashvilleequestrian #nashvillehorses
One of my boys got glue on shoes today. Poor guy has been having trouble with all of this mud and rain 😑 but fortunately... no metal shoes needed! As soon as our farrier put these boots on, his head dropped down and he fell asleep during the process 🥰 I love knowing that my farrier cares about sole protection and importance of keeping the hoof as natural as possible. #farrier #naturalfarrier #nashvilleequestrians #hoofcare #hooftrimming
These 95+ degree days and winter coats coming in are calling for quality time on the ground! This is Twister- a 3.5 yo draft cross that is with me for a few months in training! As with every horse I work with, I want that rope to be as light as it can be, as if it didn’t exist! Here I wanted to isolate only the front end and move him side to side, like a dance 💃 I’m proud of him for the lightness that he is creating himself! #horsemanship #lightnesswithfeel #draftcrossesofinstagram #draftcross #westerndressage #westerndressagehorse #westerndressagetraining #classicaldressagetraining #groundwork #nashvilleequestrians #nashvilleequestrian #nashvillehorses #nashvillehorsetrainer #horsetrainer #ridinginstructor #nashvilledressage
